Hi, Just getting a bit of an electonics bug after setting up a nestbox IR

I have a Sony CPD-G400 that wont come out of standby mode. I gave the repair
shop a copy of the Service manual; they are saying the processor has got
inputs but its not doing anything. The monitor is out of warranty, and Sony
isn't selling spares for it here in Australia.

In a few days I am releasing onto SourceForge a piece of Open Source
software (GPL), that controls a Robosapien robot.  Currently the software
supports a $50 USB infrared transceiver.  The current supported transceiver
is an excellent product, but I am hoping to find a dirt cheap ...

I have an old Western Digital Caviar 22500 hard drive that failed. I
hate to see good electronics go to waste. I salvage almost anything.
I am trying to get the hard drive spindle brushless DC motor to run.
What better controller than the one that came with the hard drive? I
