I blew a transistor in a power supply yesterday and can't find an identical replacement. The supply was 25 years old so I figured the transistor is discontinued. It is 2N3898 and if someone could point me to an equivalent I'd really appreciate it.

floppy drive at 8mhz for DD mode, 16mhz for HD mode, now I find out theres 10.24mhz for hyper mode, is there anymore speeds I should know about ??

Can you use a positive plug 4.5v 600mA power adaptor in a device that calls for a positive plug 4.5v 300mA adaptor without harming the device? They are both produced by the same company, the only difference is the mA rating.
