Does anyone know approximately how long it takes for the contacts on a
typical small DC ice cube relay to open after the coil voltage is

Bad to leave unused "wallwart" transformer plugged in?13 Sep 2004 19:36 GMT3
Just wondering...
Is it OK to leave the AC adapters used by many gadgets plugged in while it
isn't connected to anything? For example, AC->DC charger for a cellphone
left plugged under my desk with the end of the cord on the desk in a handy,

Anyone know of a simple circuit that I can throw together that will
display an output on a dual 7 segment LED numeric display, its simply
converting 0-5v range input to 0-15 on the 7-segment display

Electronic electricity repository is an energy concept that aims to accumulate
and store electrical energy from any source.  The storage would be intended to
accommodate such things as electric vehicles, home heating, etc.  The best
example is the EV - an electric car that would run ...

I have been playing with microcontrollers and Basic engines for years.
I always missed the ability to have a video out- to display data on a
monitor. A recent web search found the ezVid which provides RS232 type
interface for Stamps and microcontrollers to display multi-color info

Ferric Chloride recycling12 Sep 2004 19:46 GMT1
I'm soon going to start messing around with designing circuits again, either
with breadboard type things or making PCB's with UV sensitive boards and
Ferric Chloride.  I'm concerned about the toxicity of this evil looking
stuff and how best to dispose of it and the dissolved copper.
Telephone ring signal light for music studio12 Sep 2004 19:44 GMT1
Does anyone have any idea how to construct or purchase one of these?  Radio
Shack sells one for the hearing impaired, but it isn't the exact thing I'm
looking for.  I'd like to have a box, (possibly wall mounted) with a light,
and also professional looking.
1999 Pontiac Bonneville Power Mirrors12 Sep 2004 18:46 GMT5
Anyone have a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville schematic?  I'd really appreciate a
pinout (wiring color, connector letters, and function description) for the
power mirror control switch.  Local dealer is not cooperative.

Technical report on rabbits ears12 Sep 2004 11:20 GMT6
Does anybody know of a technical report of the "indoor aerial" I was told a
few years ago the there is no resemblance between the rabbits ears and
aerial theory, just I have a few people who want to argue the point, and
hoping there might be a URL around that might show I'm right or ...

4/23/02 I am not much of a team player, and have ZERO computer skills - but I
am an industrial engineer, who has thought very deeply about the subject of
energy for this planet. After many years of discussion about this, it is my
firm conviction that EER is no more impossible than a ...
