IBM P70  (Sony GDM-17SE2T variant) reduced width20 Jun 2004 11:32 GMT1
G'day folks, I originally asked about this problem in s.e.repairs,
completely forgot about a.electronics at the time.
I've got a IBM P70 with reduced width, all voltages seem to measure OK,
(I've got the Sony 17SE2T Service Manual), replaced one transformer with
Flameproof resistors in series, is it okay to do?20 Jun 2004 11:23 GMT3
I need a flameproof resistor of 1.2k ohms but I only have one of 1k
and one of 200 ohms.(both flameproof)
Now theoretically speaking, connecting them in series the total
resistance would be 1.2k ohms but would the safety factor of a

questions is this seems to be a old IC according to some websites, though if
this is the case, whats the new versions number ?  Can't even find it on
Motorolas site....

Battery Life19 Jun 2004 20:27 GMT4
I read somewhere that you can prolong Battery Life by leaving the lid off of
devices, so heat can escape. Is this true and how much can they be prolonged if
so?

LED Driver delivers constant luminosity19 Jun 2004 14:56 GMT5
I very much like the circuit by Israel Schleicher in EDN Jun 12 2003 for its
ability to drive a 3.6 volt Superbright LED off a 1.2 to 1.5 volt cell with
very minimal and inexpensive components. Since it pulses the LED, greater
perceived brightness can be acheived at great efficiency ...

Recharging Time for NiCads18 Jun 2004 23:27 GMT1
I have a AA Nicad charger that charges 700mAh batteries using the 5hr rate, but
I want to use 1000mAh batteries (same size, AA Nicad). Is it ok to recharge
them using that, and is the charging time also 5hr or should it be longer?
Thanks.
