Pulsing LEDs to achieve maximum output?17 Apr 2004 16:47 GMT7
Ok,
I've read some discussion here about pulsing LEDs to achieve higher output without burning
the stupid things out. (Instead of CW).
I'm just working on a circuit for general purpose low voltage illumination, but want to

Teac CTV - horizontal collapse then fail17 Apr 2004 06:35 GMT2
I'm hoping one or two of you TV guys may be able to point me in the right
direction with my failed TV.
It's a Teac CTW3450S (I will stick to big name Jap brands in future!).
Initially there was some horizontal pulling on the right hand side of the
Data sheets for Infineon/Siemens IR optos?17 Apr 2004 06:18 GMT4
I'm chasing data sheets on the Infineon SFH409 IR LED and the SFH309FA-4 IR
phototransistor.  Most ofhe usual sources show nothing, as does Google. The
nearest I can find is abbreviated data on the Farnell (or was it RS?) website.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction?
Ah-HAH!  Dick Cappels has been holding back Info!17 Apr 2004 06:18 GMT4
Last Dec. over the holidays I was thinking that all these LED V boost
circuits that I see are three terminal black boxes.  It would sure be a
lot easier to put one in a flashlight if it was a two terminal box.
That way, no common or ground would have to be used, and the LED would ...
LF: Schematic for HP inkjet printer cartridges16 Apr 2004 18:21 GMT2
Yes that's right, HP inkjet printer cartridges.  Need to know what the
circuits are on the cartridge from the contacts to the print head.  Tried to
meter this out and it's not making much sense of the readings using an ohm
meter.
Advice requested: Erratic colour fault on computer monitors.16 Apr 2004 15:20 GMT7
I wonder if anyone can give some advice regarding a little problem.
I have a couple of CRT monitors that exhibit similar problems. One
flashes yellow (blue gun fault I guess) and the other flashes magenta
(green gun fault?). It seems to be an electromechanical fault because
How to identify FETs16 Apr 2004 14:16 GMT10
I have a very early (circa 1993) Rode large diaphragm condensor mic.  I am
trying to identify a couple transistors, which I believe to be FETs.
Problem is, I cannot find any data on them at all.
The two transistors in question have the numbers:
DC to AC conversion question.16 Apr 2004 13:53 GMT2
Does converting a DC power sorce to an AC power supply change voltage
levels? If so, how?
I'm building a prototype high temp desert tent. I want to use a solar
panel that happens to produce DC current to a cooling system that uses
Dick Smith Scope16 Apr 2004 11:51 GMT5
I recently bought a Dick Smith oscilloscope, please see attached link, or
search for Item number: 3807992995.
This scope does not have a manual and I am unable to find any reference to
it on the internet.  It's obviously an older scope sold by Dick Smith and it
Contacting Polykom16 Apr 2004 07:29 GMT3
I'm trying to source the new Zetex ZMX40M/ZMZ20M, AMR chips

I've had no reply from Polykom (I only want 1offs) . Anyone ever had a
Designing a car audio amplifier... ?16 Apr 2004 05:36 GMT4
Yeah, ok I'm bored......
I'm thinking I want to try building a car audio amplifier, a simple (hehe) multistage BJT
power amp, any suggestions on a particular transistor for the application? (hoping one
that has good tech support docs).
