Sorry if this is an inappropriate group, but please let me know if

Sometimes my baby monitor receiver emits a whining noise which I have
sampled and found to be very sharply peaked somewhere between 4450 and

Dontronics USB-232 converter20 Apr 2004 14:42 GMT10
OK, I have finally found a USB-232 converter which doesn't crash my
PC. Whilst being a fairly good device, I still have found a few
problems which others may have experienced.
The main problem is that I am dealing with serial devices that
Modern DJ's have it to easy!!20 Apr 2004 07:13 GMT7
Just downloaded a couple of modern PC DJ applications. Not bad. All
you have to do is select the tracks and voila, auto cueing and mixing.
I like it. Much easier than pushing the needle over the vinyl like I
used to do!! No real challange however.

Hi, Many years ago I was involved in TV repair and remember using a
method of 'Ring' testing a flyback using nothing more than a cap and a
scope. It was from a UK Practical Electronics article and it worked
very reliably to find shorted turns. I seem to remember it using the

Rugged small form factor PCs19 Apr 2004 16:36 GMT4
I am considering PC-104s for my project.  I can increase space/power
however, to obtain higher processing speed with larger form factor boards.
EBX sounds good, but I heard that it is not as rugged as PC-104.  My
application will be in rough conditions subject to G-forces.
