I`am using a Magellan GPS 310 connected to a desktop computer, because I`am developing my own software and inside a building that is extremly shielded, the GPS dosent start transmitting data until the satellites are picked up or limited data.

I have an indiana cash drawer that can be hooked to a printer. Its a 24 volt drawer. I want to use the serial port to trigger it. one of the working serial drawers I would type echo 00000000 > com1 at my dos prompt and it would kick open what does this do? thanks Mike What do

I'm trying to locate some of these ICs, heck, even a pair would do as a starter. They are GPIB/IEEE-488 driver and receiver ic's, commonly found ( i believe ) in old HP equipment and ( i guess ) many other peripherals that connect to the real world by this interface.
