What is the reason for the yellow phase being earthed or used as the star point in a three phase system? I have seen this several times in the North of the uk. I am told that it is something to do with impedances? Many thanks.....Barry

I have recently moved from the UK to the US. In the UK I was a qualified electrician for 10 years. I now live in Dutchess county NY, were they don't have any licensing requirements for electricians. (Not the best idea I have come across.)

Am I reading Article 210.21 (B) (1) properly? If an receptacle is the only one on the circuit, the branch circuit rating may be less than the receptacle? For example, according to this article, it would be allowable to put a NEMA 14-50R on a circuit with a 30A double pole

www.jaycar.com.au sells a rf transmitter module for use with digital data, the output is 3dBm, is there an opamp circuit to boost the output power? if not, any ic's that can amplify or any transmitter ic's with higher output power?

I have two 100A service panels. Panel 1 has a #6 copper wire running from it to a water pipe and believe it is the correct size based on the NEC 250.122 because, the largest service wire is 200A at the meter to power the panels. Panel 2 doesn't have a ground so, can I connect a #8
