Somebody claims to have developed a new reversible heat-engine cycle
that has th same theorotical efficiency as the Carnot Cycle operating
between the same temperature limits. is this a reasonable claim?

Baldor ID15H210-E VFD29 Sep 2005 06:23 GMT1
Hello Group,
Just wondering if anyone out there is familiar with or knows if there might
be a schematic for this drive on the net somewhere. We had a problem today
when setting this drive up to do some testing for one of our clients. In

3 phase motor thermistor28 Sep 2005 21:41 GMT5
I have some 2.2KW 3 phase AC induction motors from ABB and Siemens,
they are all in the same class and very similar, if not identical
design. I measured the thermistor on some of them and got about steady
180ohm at 30C room temperature.
Service Drop Cable27 Sep 2005 02:24 GMT48
What size and type of cable would the electric company use as service drop
for a house with a load of 200Amps.
What book or web site is recommendable of this topic. I'll like to learn
more about load calculations.
"Black Box Auto/Electric Question"26 Sep 2005 23:53 GMT5
I STRONGLY suspect that the "Blower Motor Control  Module" (AC/Delco
#15-71971 for those who want to "look it up") is no more.   (It has failed
in the "full on" mode.)
The shot manual describes it as containing an amplifier and driver circuit.
UL listings versus CE listings26 Sep 2005 23:01 GMT20
All,
There was some chatter a while back in regards to UL listings and how they
have pretty much gone by the wayside.  It was mentioned that to many, people
just do not care anymore.  Seems like UL has received a bad rap.
Height of PanelView Operator Display26 Sep 2005 19:50 GMT3
WHat is the industry standard (Canada?) height to place the operator's
Panelview display for factory automation systems?  I remember it to be
around 1.78m but can't be sure.  Is there a manual online somewhere?
Running Computers from Batteries/Generators?26 Sep 2005 19:23 GMT4
Sometimes the power goes off here and I am wondering about running my
PC/laptop, modem and router from batteries. Most of the UPS brands
I've looked at only seem to supply power for less than an hour. So
would I be better with an inverter? If so, do I really need a
TI Inside24 Sep 2005 23:06 GMT7
There is a story circulating that the semiconductor chips
made by Texas Instruments contain so many toxic chemicals
and are out-gassing fumes that they can be used to
exterminate bugs simply by tossing several TI chips in
Load capacity of parallel concuctor circuit24 Sep 2005 19:57 GMT6
An outbuilding on my property is fed by underground conductors running
through PVC conduit from the house. The two sides of the circuit each
consist of three 14 guage stranded conductors running parallel (total of six
14 ga. conductors). There is a single 8 guage uninsulated ground ...
Electric pump motor question24 Sep 2005 19:00 GMT1
I have hot water heating and last year the motor stopped and would not
start. There is also one spot where it is hard to turn but the bushings
look really fine. What is the proper procedure to test the motor and
overload protection? The coils don't look burned at all. How can I test
