I was doing some reading on gfci's and they referred to a neutral to ground
short upstream of the gfci would trip it.
aren't the neutral and ground buss connected and wouldn't this be seen as a
short ?

Hi all.  I don't know if this is the correct ng or not, but I thought I'd

I have several contactors with 24 VAC coils, but I need 240 volt coils.  
The coils are wound on a simple plastic form, and would be very easy to
rewind.  Is there a way to calculate what gauge wire to use and how many
turns, so it has sufficient pull-in force but won't overheat?

I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to, or even a
direction on.   On a generation system (GE in this case), there are
bus VT's configured in open delta - open delta and the B-phase of the
secondaries is grounded.  These VT's feed various meters, the

While running an electric pressure washer this evening thing went dead as
did the electric sockets on one side of my house....Breaker wasn't throwed
and got juice coming out of the breaker.....What happened?????  Any

I've started a 15 HP (480 V, 3 phase) motor while running a similar 25
HP motor, and my  Onan 37 kVA generator with Ford 6 cylinder LPG
engine running at 1800 rpm only bogged for a short while, around a
second or so.  Even though the motors are never started under a
