Calsun bronze ground cable31 May 2004 18:03 GMT2
Looking at a spec for grounding requirements in a paint mixing room.
The spec reads:"A ground rod connector with a 1/4" Calsun bronze
ground cable of the required length shall be attached to the ground
rod and anchored to the exterior of the 18 guage metal wall of the

Future Low Energy Cleaners
The Vacuum Cleaners we use today have many major flaws.
1/. They release contaminated air back into the home environment.
2/. They blow dust from furniture allowing it to become air born.
What is the EMR Range of Lightening?31 May 2004 04:06 GMT12
If I can just begin to hear the EMR from lightening
on an AM radio, how far away is the lightening?
Is this product a rip-off?  It's at least a good laugh.30 May 2004 07:18 GMT43
I saw this product at a web site.  It converts "110" volts to "220" volts.
There are 3300 watt models and 4400 watt models.  What I was curious about
is just what kind of plug was used to get power and what amperage it was
rated for.  Since very few people would have the typical ...
Track an object through 360 degrees29 May 2004 07:56 GMT2
I would like some advise as to where to start with this idea.
I would like to be able to track the movements of a person running
about in an enclosed area and rotate an object so that it is
constantly facing them.
electric field strength29 May 2004 01:03 GMT2
I have to find out an electric field strength at the sharp edge of
perforated metal holes. Does anybody know what is the simple formula
or any equivalent formula to calculate the electric field around the
sharp edges of perforated metal hole.
A couple magnetic starter/relay questions28 May 2004 19:33 GMT7
I have a magnetic starter on my table saw.  It consists of a on(momentary
close)/off(momentary open) switch and a 4 pole relay.  On of the poles fused
closed so I used another pole. Since then it has worked, but has been flaky.
I figure it is time to replace the relay.  As long as I ...

What is the typical output voltage (Vpeak) of a run-of-the-mill phone
peak-up coil?
Thanks,

Two transformers 'trick' for 3 phase27 May 2004 19:43 GMT7
Question:  If you need a certain amount of power (kva) 3 phase, are 2
transformers each with half the total kVA rating cheaper than 3 each with
1/3rd the total?
I was thinking of the Scott-T transformer configuration, which generates
Another Trany Q, Y to open delta?27 May 2004 19:31 GMT6
I'm still having transformer problems.  I've got a 480 to 575 open delta
transformer, it is fed from a 480Y panel.  The neutral does not come into
the transformer at all.  I'm getting my 600 volts OK, but I am also showing
a 150 amp load on the ground line.  The casing of the ...
3-Phase Generator question27 May 2004 16:31 GMT13
I am in the US Army and I use a 35kw 3-phase 208v generator to power all my
equipment.  My problem is, everything I use is 120v singe phase.  I have to
use this one generator to power 4 mobile shelters and 3 tents.  I currently
have the phases split so that each one is as equal ...
Variable frequency drive for single phase  motor27 May 2004 03:45 GMT2
I have a central AC unit. It is single phase motor compressor. I am looking
for a vaiable frequency drive unit for it. I hope it can save energy. Will
it work? I found only three phase variable frequency drive unit in the
market. Is there any single phase variable frequency drive at ...
Need help finding a supplier for 3.2 MHZ crystal27 May 2004 03:15 GMT2
I am working on a home project that requires a HC 49 3.2 MHZ thru hole
straight wire lead crystal. I have tried Digikey as well as several local
electronic parts suppliers. No luck. I found several spec sheets on the
internet for the 3.2 MHZ crystal but no reference as to where to ...
480-4wire service26 May 2004 20:32 GMT6
I saw a new one (to me) yesterday.  Trouble shooting an aircompressor
control panel I got strange readings on the incoming line to ground.  I had
thought it was a standard 480Y277 service.  On one leg to ground I got
242volts.
Question with 277V volt lighting26 May 2004 17:56 GMT16
I have a building that has 277V fluorescent lighting. I no long have the
277V available. Can I still use the same ballast and bulbs just hook the
120V up to it or do I need to change the 277V ballast to 120V ballast and
the bulbs. I looked at the bulbs and there is no voltage ...
