| Splices in service panel | 22 Oct 2003 03:41 GMT | 5 |
I am upgrading my service panel to 150 amp. The new panel is a lot longer than the old panel and as a result some of the hot wires will not be long enough to reach the breaker. Am I allowed to splice within the service panel or must I run a new line from a junction box?

We are interfacing a motor control panel to an existing motor controller in a bucket for a conveyer that carries coal. My question is: is there any standard that requires that the on and run lights be controlled from the control panel or can they remain part of motor controller?

Hi - I am about to replace my old power shower and discovered the following: 9.0kW (240V) shower, 6mm² wiring (run length less than 10m), 30A rewirable fuse in consumer unit. To my mind this should not be possible and should really require 10mm²

| split load power supplies | 21 Oct 2003 11:55 GMT | 2 |
Is it feasable to fit a standard consumer unit without an RCD section (i.e. not split load) and still get approval from the niceic? The regulations seem to state that an rcd must be used for hazardous conditions - therefore is an rcd socket acceptable for outside works such as

The following is driving me nuts! A few weeks ago our bathroom light started turning itself off after a random amount of time (e.g. 30 seconds or so). When this happened turning the light off and on again would make the light come on again for another period of

| buried conduit repair | 19 Oct 2003 22:41 GMT | 15 |
I had a little accident with the auger on the tractor. I tore into a 1 1/4" pvc conduit carrying the 220V 100A service from the main service panel to the garage. I would think that there would be a product designed to clamp around the undamaged ends of the conduit (watertight
