| Floppy Disk Interfacing | 31 May 2009 17:22 GMT | 8 |
Howdy folks. I've been looking into how floppy drives work again, interested in tinkering with them myself for fun in projects, but have some questions. I also wouldn't mind some confirmations/corrections of my info by folks who actually know about this stuff, unlike

| Low noise amp chip | 31 May 2009 04:38 GMT | 14 |
Hi All.I'm looking for a very low noise amp chip, about 1 watt is all I need. I have used the LM386 (crap) and the TDA2822, more satisfactory, but I need to get rid of more of the white noise/hiss. Any ideas on a more suitable chip, or components to help aleviate the problem.

| Speaking of Colin Mitchell -- Circuit mistakes | 30 May 2009 14:50 GMT | 9 |
He's a very opinionated guy -- would fit in quite well here. :-) Check out this page of his: http://www.talkingelectronics.com/projects/SpotMistakes/SpotMistakesP8.html -- is the extra circuitry in the solar charger necessarily a mistake? The

I would like to create a bench power supply for experimenting with audio circuits. I'm not an EE and I'm just doing this for fun so I'd like to do this as cheaply as possible. I'm looking for advice about creating such a supply from existing or inexpensive components.

| Questions on an SFH3710 phototransistor | 30 May 2009 06:51 GMT | 15 |
Anyone tried to use these phototransistors before? I purchased a few from Digikey to see if they would work in a color sensing application I have, and they don't see red! I am trying to figure out if I just can't read a data sheet, or if they have a bad batch of these out
