FM detector using PLL10 Mar 2007 22:29 GMT3
I'm trying to design/build a FM detector using a PLL (4046 with
carrier frequency = 150 kHz). Anyone know of any good sites I can
visit (there are jus too many out there!) / recommended books that i
can lay my hands on that provide reasonable heuristics/guides.
The voltage across an inductor isn't -Ldi/dt10 Mar 2007 20:34 GMT27
I always thought the voltage across an inductor was -Ldi/dt. Yet it
cannot be, because for a conductor with zero resistance and carrying a
finite current, the electric field inside it must be 0 meaning there
is no voltage across it's ends. When we talk about a voltage existing

I've been doing some testing over the years, and figured I'd take some of
the information I've posted on varous forums and start putting it in one

Calibration Of Electronic Equipment In The Home Workshop10 Mar 2007 17:43 GMT248
I have a well stocked test bench at home containing a range of analog,
digital and RF test equipment as I am sure most of you also do.
Well the question I have is how do you handle the calibration of your
equipment? What do you use for calibration standards for resistance,

urgent: chopper stabilized amplifier's amplifier stage does not work10 Mar 2007 09:00 GMT1
I searched the component name LTC1043 on LTspice, but I can't seem to
find it. Is it an extra component I need to download?
If you have one, can you please email me a copy?
I simulate my chopper stabilized circuit on multisim because I can't
Point to Point Soldering Construction Methods10 Mar 2007 08:17 GMT8
I tried to find those ancient solderable terminal strips as seen on

Has anybody found this at Digikey?
But while looking, I found prototyping with turrets and turret boards.
chopper stabilized amplifier design10 Mar 2007 06:40 GMT3
I am trying to simulate a chopper stabilized amplifier circuit using
multisim or LTspice.
Does anyone have any resource(i.e. schematic files or detail
schematics) related to implementing chopper stabilized amplifier using

Hand soldering LCC package10 Mar 2007 03:47 GMT12
I have in the past hand soldered SOIC packages for prototypes using a microscope
and a soldering pencil.  But now I am faced with a chip that is only available
in an LCC package - the kind with the contacts under the chip.  It only has 8
pins.  Is there any hope that I can solder ...

I'd like to find out the power consumption of a mobile phone in watts.
I've got the following info:
"Maximum Power Capacity (Watts)      3.7V Li-Ion 760mAh"
Would this mean that the power consumption of the phone is = 3.7*0.76
