| 8 bit microcontroller market | 31 Aug 2006 21:35 GMT | 16 |
I am trying to get a handle on the current (or at least fairly recent) 8 bit microcontroller market. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence around, usually to show a particular manufacturer in a favourable light but apart from spending several grand on a marketing report I have been ...

| PCI-X Backplane 2u? | 31 Aug 2006 21:21 GMT | 3 |
Hi i am designing a board that will connect to a pci-x single board computer directly (without backplanes) via PICMG 1.0 edge connector in the sbc, problem is that IDSEL is not direcly available on the Card Edge Pins, the PICMG 1.0 Specification tells that IDSEL1's must be

| bandwith limitations in transimpedance amplifier | 31 Aug 2006 15:50 GMT | 5 |
There are already a lot of topics about transimpedance amplifier with a lot of references and I'm now waiting for the Graeme's book about photodiode amplifier. But there is one issue that is not so discussed : the bias voltage.

| Drive logic/motor power supply | 31 Aug 2006 06:36 GMT | 1 |
Hiya, I was considering adding either a floppy and/or hard drive into a project I'm working on, and since either requires 12v to run the motors, I got to wondering about something. Are the logic and motor components of such a drive totally isolated from one another? I mean,

| replacement for 741 | 30 Aug 2006 22:44 GMT | 36 |
Hello, I was wondering if there is an "up-to-date" replacement for the 741 op-amp. Someone said that a TL081 or LF156 will work in my application, but I couldn't find either in my Allied or Newark catalogs.

| Reconfiguring SMPS | 30 Aug 2006 22:00 GMT | 5 |
Has anyone come across any sane ways to reconfigure an SMPS? There are a ton of ex computer ones out there - it'd be interesting to rework one to generate +12 V say.

| Cheap reliable tactile switches? | 30 Aug 2006 14:42 GMT | 4 |
I'm on the lookout for a cheap but reliable tactile SPST momentary push button key. Switching requirement is of the order of micro-amps, since it would be interfaced with a microprocessor. The application is a device to be used in Automobile. And the switch could be pressed on an

| CE marking | 30 Aug 2006 07:25 GMT | 125 |
I recently saw the CE mark on a standard retail AA alkaline cell. The bulk pack showed they were made in China. Is there a requirement for CE marking/compliance of such batteries - if so what would a declaration confirm? - or is it typical chinese 'label

| Current limitting circuit | 30 Aug 2006 06:25 GMT | 1 |
I am using the ADP667 to bias my FETs. Its a variable DC-DC regulator, but i want to add a current limiting capability to it, so that i don't fry my FETs with a huge inrush of currents in some worst case scenario. Are there any linear regulators available with current limiting in
