Texas TMS1232 Delta Sigma converters 30 Nov 2005 22:04 GMT8
Just got some samples of these very nice Delta-Sigma A/D converters,
complete with built-in amplifiers for a new project.
A quick bench lash-up hooked to an AVR processor development system
shows promising results when used direct with a gain of 64 ( I have a
Webench, what's the point?30 Nov 2005 21:54 GMT2
I gave it a try, specified my power supply and let it run. It outputs a
schematic and a BOM but there is no explication how it selected the
components. You have to look up all the datasheets to figure out why it did
pick a certain component. When you start a simulation it is soooo ...
Need help: Understanding RF remote control30 Nov 2005 21:50 GMT2
I'm a newbie and am needing some help understanding how remote controls
(RF in particular) work.
The device to be controlled:  RS-232/TTL controlled mp3 player
Remote control: RF based with number 0-9, pause, mute, volume+ and
Uses for Old UPSes30 Nov 2005 20:14 GMT89
I am the "lucky" owner of a number of older UPSes.
So what can a person build out of these?
The batteries are for the most part dead but the remainder of the
components seem to be in good condition.
WTD - Older GI PIC-1665's30 Nov 2005 20:08 GMT1
Wanted: Older GI 1979-1985 PIC1665 microcontrollers.
Also looking for any old PFD 1020 Field Demo Systems from GI.
Email me if you have any of the above, thank you.

Peak voltage detector schematic30 Nov 2005 16:51 GMT21
I would very much like to make some sort of a "peak voltage
detector". A device that, when plugged into a circuit, after a
while, builds up an adequate representation of peak voltage. That
would be again for my IGBT inverter.
Using aluminum foil for protecting wires?30 Nov 2005 16:21 GMT22
Just curious about something. Let's say I have some wires that I want
to protect from EMI. Can I simply wrap them in aluminum foil? (and
then put some electrrical tape over foil to just keep it all
together. Would it offer me decent EMI protection?
Complimentary Transistors? (Electronical Humour) :-)30 Nov 2005 16:04 GMT1
Ever misspelled "complementary transistors"?

Monitoring RS48530 Nov 2005 10:57 GMT6
i need an informatio about rs485:
I need to watch netwrok trafic from my device and another device that
use rs485  to comunicate. Is possible to connect in parallel mode
another peripherical (like a pc via rs232) to trace all the message
PLL loop filter - phase margin problems30 Nov 2005 10:54 GMT4
I'm trying to design a 2nd order loop filter for a PLL but I'm running
into difficulties following the analysis in National Semiconductors
Application Note AN-1001.
In the App note, they find that the time constant T1 of the loop filter
Tin Whiskers on Pb-Free Electronic Components30 Nov 2005 08:59 GMT19
We were getting quite a few shorts on our caps and boards due to tin whiskers.
we resolved the problem by conformal coating. Just wondering if anyone else has
this problem and how did you solve it?
Thanks in advance.
X22C12P30 Nov 2005 08:55 GMT2
Can anyone suggest a drop-in replacement for the now obsolete Xicor
X22C12P 256x4 Non-volatile 18 pin SRAM? Or, maybe a reliable obsolete
IC supplier in the UK that might be able to help.
Thanks,
PC timer30 Nov 2005 08:27 GMT12
On a modern PC what is the best resolution I can get from reading the clock?
I need to timestamp data packets.
Ideally I need sub millisecond res.
Estimating peak voltage with a cap-diode setup?30 Nov 2005 08:00 GMT7
I decided to try to estimate peak voltage in my circuit, by connecting
a 2 uF capacitor in series with a diode to my DC bus. The hope was
that the capacitor would be only charged and never discharged.
I removed varistors from the system.
Op amp question30 Nov 2005 06:21 GMT8
I'm not an experienced electronics person, and so have a "stupid question".
I have a device that provides an "on" signal intermittently at 2.7 volts DC.
When the "on" of 2.7 volts is available, I need to have a "sub-circuit"
receive an "on" of 5.0 volts.  I have a source of 5.0 ...
