800+V MOSFET with fast Antiparellel diode30 Apr 2008 19:21 GMT10
I'm looking for some other choices in the 800-1200V MOSFET with a fast
antiparallel diode (trr less than 300nS)
The application is a 150Khz full bridge SMPS running off 300 - 600VDC at
~150Watts.

Standard single (TL071) pattern did power opamp ?21 Apr 2008 17:44 GMT4
Does there exist a DIP8 single opamp (TL071/NE5534 pattern) capable of
driving a 50 ohm load while still being usable on +/- 15 volt rails
(cuts out video opamps). Trying to beef up the headphone drive of an
old Neve mixer without hacking it in any way (ie adding in current
Fast recovery diode query21 Apr 2008 13:29 GMT3
Firstly is "fast recovery" diode = = "high speed" diode?
I have 2 ok diodes of originally 3 on a board, one missing. 1N4148 in size
and form but known to be fast recovery types.
Is there a non-destructive test I could say graph-out sub 10mA and sub 20V
Help ID-ing a Zener19 Apr 2008 05:47 GMT2
I have a nice Radio Shack 2 Line cordless phone that went poof on me,
and let out the magic smoke. I opened it up and found some damage around
the battery and power area. One of the damaged components is a zener
marked D503 on the board. It has a number 6 and the next line is ...
Update on MSP430 Babylonian clock19 Apr 2008 03:57 GMT2
Followup to the message I posted the other week about Nokia 2260 LCDs
for my Babylonian clock... the electronics are now working.
The clock starts at 10:12:10 and ends at 10:13:08 in this video; you
get to see most of the digits.

Z8 chips with Tiny Basic18 Apr 2008 05:44 GMT12
I have a few tubes of NOS Z8 micros (40 pin DIP) which are mask ROM types
containing a Tiny Basic. You can just hook them up to a terminal and code
directly. Alternatively you can add external ROM and RAM for bigger
programmes.
Old HP transistor cross reference18 Apr 2008 01:04 GMT6
Hi, I am Paolo from Italy.
I received in gift an old HP Oscilloscope, the 1710B, to which they were
removed some transistors from horizontal (?) deflection output board.
Someone has the cross reference to replace the transistor originally
2N1711 transistor replacement17 Apr 2008 13:17 GMT16
Is there some compatible transistor that I can use to replace 2N1711 ...
2N1711 I can't find, so...
LF: UM3481 or equivilant.15 Apr 2008 14:22 GMT5
I saw this neat little circuit on a hobby website that uses this chip.
It is a melody synthesizer that has about 10 Christmas tunes on it. I
would like to get about 5 of those UM3481 chips for projects like that.
I have checked the usual sources, Digikey, Newark, Maplin, BGMicro, ...
Unknown component15 Apr 2008 09:56 GMT8
I have a component I am trying to identify.  It consists of a glass
tube about 3/4" long and 1/8" diameter.  Inside this tube are 2 blades
that look like the might contact each other where they overlap
slightly.  There is a wire coming in from either end into the glass
