Two phase controllers in series?30 Jan 2008 15:44 GMT11
Hello. I want to use a phase controller with more control over a drill's AC
motor speed than the controller inside the drill. I'm hoping it's enough to
set the internal one at full speed and to ignore it while using the external
controller. Is this bad, and if so, what can be ...
led driver made fromdiscreet components ?30 Jan 2008 15:33 GMT6
hi,  i want to make a led torch , something simple , that runs of 2  , maybe
4      ,  1.5 volt battteries .
and  to power   2 or 4  white leds.
is there a driver to make  bit more efficent use of battery and leds ?

Holes in panels/boxes, small volumes28 Jan 2008 01:00 GMT1
I'm making a simple gadget that's got a couple of connectors
and an IC or two.  I'll probably make 10 of them.  I'd like
to be able to make 100.
I'd like to put them in a reasonable looking box/case.  I'll
Help ID'ing and replacing component?27 Jan 2008 22:56 GMT1
I've gotten myself into a spot of trouble, and would
appreciate some help with it.
This is a Bolun WR-601 wireless microphone, specifically the
receiver for that system, which is powered by a single AAA
See-through wire mesh to ESD/RFI protect LCD?27 Jan 2008 21:53 GMT16
After trying Google, McMaster, and lots of others: Is there a
see-through (thin) mesh that can be fastened to the back of a steel
panel using conductive epoxy around the perimeter? Preferably something
that can't rust.

LM324 datasheet with guaranteed sink voltages?25 Jan 2008 10:12 GMT58
Is there a really, really detailed schematic with guaranteed output
voltage limits versus sink current for the LM324? Most look like this:
http://www.national.com/ds/LM/LM124.pdf
Obviously, page 8 top left and the schematic show that one can get to

RCA application notes24 Jan 2008 08:01 GMT18
A long time ago RCA published a good range of application notes.
One in particular I'm looking for.
I had it, when I was young, but it just disapeared...
If any body should have it, pls let me know.
Bleeder resistors >1kV23 Jan 2008 10:48 GMT16
Usual resistors are rated up to around 700V dielectric. Some exotic SMT
can go to kilovolts but they are expensive, rare and also long so that
breakage or other flex damage is likely. Then there are small specialty
mfgs such as Hokuriko but they aren't really very available at ...
Bidirection Cinch Jones Connector21 Jan 2008 02:26 GMT1
I'm seeking a connector for 12v battery charger application. One end will
be mounted in the vehicle, the other on the charger cord.
Since both will be "hot" the usual "supply end is female" does not apply.
I seem to recall a round Cinch-Jones connector where it had one pin
Fridge adapter20 Jan 2008 21:25 GMT1
Can I use  such adapter: http://www.czstar.net/prodshow.asp?ProdId=1803#
for portable DVD player, I have a plug for car lighter. I wonder if it
can make harm to dvd player, the quality of current required  by
fridge is not as good as by electronic device. The power would be
Dual gate MOSFET.17 Jan 2008 21:15 GMT3
Gone are the days when I used to service TV sets and could easily obtain the
occasional BF981 from a scrap tuner.
These days I obtain the occasional modern miniature tuners with very tiny
SMD MOSFETs with no markings, The Peak/Atlas component analyser will read it
Strange tube base17 Jan 2008 20:53 GMT6
Found a pack of unused tube bases which I don't recognize.
They're about the size of american octal, but with 9 pins spaced 36 degrees
and no spigot slot.  There's no base of that type on my Avo Valve
