What are the modern options for current-boosting uC outputs?29 Dec 2007 20:14 GMT1
In the past I've used both individual transistors (bipolar) and
devices like the ULN2803 to allow uC outputs drive loads in the tens
to hundreds of mA.  Being mostly a software person I haven't kept up
to date with what's available now for such uses, so I thought I'd get

Remove ferric chloride stains with Coca-Cola?23 Dec 2007 23:10 GMT7
This afternoon, at the lab, I removed a ferric chloride stain from the
workbench with a paste of citric acid and water (given 2 hours to work).
Reading up on the chemistry, I see indications that a mixture of citric and
phosphoric acids should work better...
I'm looking for someone in the US to buy components.23 Dec 2007 18:40 GMT1
I'm looking for someone reliable with an address in the US to buy
electronic components for me from US-based suppliers, and re-ship
them to Ireland (every 4 to 8 weeks or so). The details can be
worked out off-list. Mutually beneficial deal.
How to read and program TMS1000 and TMS1400?21 Dec 2007 15:33 GMT3
I have a TMS1000 and a TMS1400 microcontroller i'd like to read the
roms off of, and reprogram.  Does anyone know how to do this?  I
haven't found much online about these chips even though it seems to
used to be pretty common.
trying to find a low-power regulator20 Dec 2007 23:27 GMT5
I have a circuit that calls for a constant current sink.  The LM317
would be perfect, but it requires about 5 milliamps to operate.  It's
too much for my battery-operated circuit to drain 5 mA all the time.
So I'm looking for a 1.2 volt three-terminal series regulator like the
Dual Gang Pots19 Dec 2007 10:40 GMT4
I'm trying to find a UK source for a couple of dual gang pots (between
10K-100K would be good) but where you push it in to select one track and
then and pull out to select the other track. Is there a name for this type
of pot? It's hard to find an item when you don't know what ...

Spice model BFS1715 Dec 2007 00:37 GMT11
Brief question: Are the BFS17 and the old BFW92 the same or nearly the
same die? Many Spice models for the BFS17 use BFW92 parameters (for
example NXP).

I have an old Hewlett-Packard mouse that doesn't work anymore and which
I've kept anyway until now, when I've finally found time and motivation
to open it up and study it. The label has markings such as
