I have Sony KV-27EXR25 TV. Relay clicks but it is dead. When I made some
search on this model and symptom, I followed all the troubleshooting steps
which did not change anything.  First I have replaced IC651 (STRS6301); did
not make any changes. Then took it to a TV repair shop for
Can group recommend components suppliers?30 Jan 2004 17:49 GMT8
Can the group recommend an internet based supplier of small quantities
of electronic components for hobby/project use?
I don't generally need anything very exotic;  most of my stuff is

ID old WE ICs?30 Jan 2004 16:26 GMT2
I've got a tube of  41HU and 41HW ICs.  The date codes are 1178 but I can't
find them in either my 1976 or 1980 WE data books.  I assume they are TTL
SSI.  Any old Bell shaped heads know what they are exactly?

.375" OD, .194" ID, and .41" long.  I measured the inductance at 405

Does constantly energizing a relay shorten its life?29 Jan 2004 12:18 GMT15
If so, by how much? Can anyone point me to any info on the subject or pass
on any personal experience?
We can re-layout a board to use an OMRON G5V-2-H-24VDC relay in a normally
de-energized position but I wonder if it's worth the effort.

Trying to fix this Sony STR-D550Z AV receiver.
All of a sudden the left channel sounds "buzzy".
Not a hum, but the audio is broken up... sounds like a bad cap.
But in tracing the signal I came across this IC STK350-030 that is running

I got those things, but what function may they have?28 Jan 2004 04:47 GMT1
The first thing (don't remember where it come from or it's age) looks very
similat to an regular transistor. The cap is almost an TO-202 but some
smaller. The front side is marked: "c106n RCA HH 8419".
Another one has a TO-202 case, and is stamped "f2r5g"

Over the last few years I've acquired quite a few consumer electronincs pcbs

tantalum to repair some test equipment I was going to salvage a tantalum.  I
couldn't find one anywhere, so I assume they're too ...
