| PAL16L8 Problem | 30 Sep 2003 23:22 GMT | 6 |
We have a BP Microsystems Model 1200 programmer that will not program Texas Instruments TIBPAL16L8-25CN chips. We have two of the programmers and neither works successfully. They do program AMD/MMI PAL16L8ACN parts. We are running DOS V3.75A

| excellent parts source - bookmark | 30 Sep 2003 22:11 GMT | 1 |
Just thought I'd let you now about this one. I have been searching for some time for AD1861N, and could only find a US source at $30 a piece. This guy has a huge resource and got me 5 of the same at $14.56 a piece. Lead time was quoted at 8weeks (I wasn't in a hurry) but imagine my ...

| Rf Power transistor | 30 Sep 2003 21:29 GMT | 5 |
I need a high power rf transistor. It is going to work in a ballanced push-pull coupling, delivering 44dBm out. I need the transistor to be in a package of two transistors. The gain has to be at least 12dB. The frequency band of operation is from 600 to 1000 MHz, and the large ...

| big iron toasted? | 29 Sep 2003 07:39 GMT | 14 |
I need some real-world perspective, please. There's a big power transformer in a power amp I'm working on. The amp is supposed to produce 1000W RMS (though we all know how amp specs are...). The fuse at the input is 10A for 120V mains, and the label says 1100VA. So

| Battery Holder Behavior | 29 Sep 2003 00:11 GMT | 3 |
I clipped my PS onto the circuit directly and at 1.5V it measured 186 mA, then I clipped the same PS clips onto the contacts of the single AA cell holder and it measured 169 to 170 mA, but veried a bit when the clips were moved. The single cell battery holder is a Rat

I'm looking for a stepper driver to build into a small home built cnc system. Want to drive bipolar parallel with motor current control and at least to quarter step capability. Allegro et al have some nice stuff (and Samples!) up to 3A and 50v, but is there anything else able to ...

| hc373 vs. hc573 | 28 Sep 2003 00:42 GMT | 7 |
Can someone explain what the difference between these two chips is? Looking at the TI data sheets, they are identical ('cept the 573 may be a bit slower in a couple of cases). What's the point in having 2 identical part types in the same family?

| What is a positor? | 26 Sep 2003 20:14 GMT | 7 |
I'm helping a friend repair a tv and came across what is termed a positor in the power supply - what is it, and what does it do? (and how do I test it!) I've seen people refer to these as PTC resistors (I know what these

| HD-DVD | 26 Sep 2003 19:44 GMT | 3 |
Has anyone seen any HD DVD software? Will current progressive scan DVD players pass on a HD source? I am told there is no DVD hardware or software in HD and it isn't likely any time soon. Has anyone heard anything to the contrary?

I have been looking for simple low cost Keypads w/RS-232 output. What are some good manufacturers? Looking on the Web I keep ending up at Amazon or Ebay, but I want to call up (someone who knows the product) before buying. I need to have at least 3 keys but more, say digits 0-9, ...
