We have a BP Microsystems Model 1200 programmer that will not program Texas
Instruments TIBPAL16L8-25CN chips. We have two of the programmers and
neither works successfully.
They do program AMD/MMI PAL16L8ACN parts. We are running DOS V3.75A

There's a big power transformer in a power amp I'm working on.  The amp is
supposed to produce 1000W RMS (though we all know how amp specs are...).
The fuse at the input is 10A for 120V mains, and the label says 1100VA.  So

I clipped my PS onto the circuit directly and at 1.5V it measured
186 mA, then I clipped the same PS clips onto the contacts of the
single AA cell holder and it measured 169 to 170 mA, but veried a bit

Can someone explain what the difference between these two chips is?
Looking at the TI data sheets, they are identical ('cept the 573 may
be a bit slower in a couple of cases).  What's the point in having
2 identical part types in the same family?
