| Looking for 6-32 Threaded Screws in the UK | 30 Jul 2003 15:11 GMT | 8 |
First of all, apologies for the off-topic question but I thought some of you may be able to help. I'm looking for "6-32" threaded screws, whatever that means. I've checked Farnell and RS (I'm based in the UK) and they mostly have the standard ISO Metric (M3, M4, etc.) screws. I can ...

| Leds | 30 Jul 2003 08:50 GMT | 5 |
I am trying to find a surface mount bi colour (red / yellow) low current (<2mA) Led. I can find low current or bi colour but not both. Does anyone know if such a thing exists and if so who manufactures it?

| WTF: UDN6118A-1 | 29 Jul 2003 17:42 GMT | 1 |
I checked my usual suppliers and no one has these in stock. Does anyone have one, or know of a supplier that might have one in stock? If so, please reply at shatter@odys.net with any info. Thanks,

| Toshiba 79015 3 terminal device | 29 Jul 2003 13:34 GMT | 1 |
Does anyone know what this device is and a pinout? I think it may be Toshiba's equivalent to a 7915 -15V 3 terminal regulator, but it would be nice to know before replacing it. Toshiba doesn't make it anymore and disavows any knowlege of the device.

| Why no current-process shift registers? | 28 Jul 2003 15:47 GMT | 11 |
I am constantly running into a need for a shift register in my designs to convert serial to parallel data (or vice versa). Yet as far as I've found, the most "modern" one available is the Fairchild 74AC299. It would be very nice, indeed, almost mandatory, to find parts with more ...

| Are there any good tabletop TV antennas? | 27 Jul 2003 22:38 GMT | 1 |
Are there any of these Rabbit Ear/UHF loop combo style antennas with the multi-position knob that attach to the coax fitting on the TV that are actually significantly better than others? Is there anything you can do to supe-up their performance?

| Serial IC | 27 Jul 2003 12:45 GMT | 13 |
Hello everyone! I have a question, I hope you can give me a possible solution to this. I need an IC that reads a binary combination (dip switch - 8 bit) and the transmit that combination using logic in serial way. Do you know an IC that does that without any other

| Electrolytic Capacitor Voltage | 25 Jul 2003 23:00 GMT | 5 |
If a 100V aluminium electrolytic cap (say, 10uF @ 100V) is used on a 5V circuit, will it be OK? I mean, will the capacitance drop or the performance of the cap affected as a result of using it at a much lower voltage that its rated voltage? Would it be better to use a 16V cap for ...

| Solid Aluminium vs. Tantalum Caps | 25 Jul 2003 12:38 GMT | 2 |
I've always known and admired the superior properties of Tantalum caps. BUT... I've been reading posts in sci.electronics.* and elsewhere about how they can turn into nice fireworks/explosives, or can fail easily under harsh conditions. I've been looking at the so called "solid ...

| Help identifying old chip (?) IAA-350 | 24 Jul 2003 16:09 GMT | 3 |
I have had this component in my junk-box for ages, I probably unsoldered it sometime in the '80s. Now I wonder if someone could satisfy my curiosity and suggest its original purpose. It is marked:

| instrumentation amplifier & anti-aliasing | 24 Jul 2003 13:33 GMT | 1 |
I was wondering if I could "integrate" easily a low-pass filter (for ADC anti-aliasing purpose) in an instrumentation amplifier. I would not want to include an active filter between the instrumentation amplifier (the ADC buffer) and the ADC itself. Just

| Datasheet for intersil and harris CDP65C51AE4, thanks! | 24 Jul 2003 02:02 GMT | 1 |
I am looking for the datasheets of Intersil and Harris CDP65C51 uart chips. We were using Intersil CDP65C51AE4 previously and it worked well. But after we replaced it with Harris CDP65C51AE4, a lot of them do not work well on our boards. I tried to search for the datasheets

| Triac optocoupler MOC3043 to switch 12V DC ? | 24 Jul 2003 00:21 GMT | 3 |
I need to switch a 12V/10A DC supply by a TTL logic. I thought to use a triac driven by the MOC3043 optocoupler. The datasheet of the MOC30xx is here: http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/MO/MOC3043-M.pdf
