Trying to learn new methods for PCB Layouts.30 Mar 2008 19:25 GMT13
I've been a tech for 30 or so years, and a hobbyist even longer.  I've
drawn PCBs using sharpies and the little transfer pads Radio Shack
used to sell, then moved on to transfers.  Lately I've been playing
around with using Staples photographic paper for transfers, something

LTspice - .step waveform viewing26 Mar 2008 20:53 GMT1
I have done a .step (with 4 parameter values) on a .tran simulation.
When viewing a trace in LTspice (ver. 2.23r) with the expression for ex.:
v(N001)
all of the simulation steps are plotted with different colors.  Ok.
Market for a GenCad .CAD to .DXF convertor?24 Mar 2008 17:52 GMT6
Is there a market for a GenCad .CAD to .DXF convertor?
I've been asked to do a custom job to create a
a GenCad .CAD to DXF convertor...in your opinions
would there be a market for this in general?

Mimicking PADS or Protel layout software...20 Mar 2008 05:23 GMT19
My question goes to the heart of the low-cost layout software that
I would want to purchase (besides its dependability and features!),
and that is:  Are there any low-cost layout software programs that can
both generate and import a PADS or Protel layout  file reliably?
Converting Eagle scripts between version 4.16 and version 4.0920 Mar 2008 05:15 GMT1
I have drawn up a schematic using the freeware version of Eagle, and I
want to share it with a friend who has version 4.09, but it is not
compatible.  However, he has a fully registered version and so
obviously simply upgrading is not an option.  The best option seems to
flood over smt pads in PADS19 Mar 2008 07:28 GMT9
My regular cad guy is out sick, so I'm doing a little test board
myself. I'm an occasional PADS user.
Everything is going OK, except that I want to do a topside copper pour
that floods over all the same-net surface-mount pads, without
Thoughts on AutoTRAX PCB layout software?19 Mar 2008 04:38 GMT74
I am thinking of buying AutoTRAX EDA (not the DOS Protel
version!).  I have demo'ed virtually every low-cost schematic/layout
package* out there, and they all have certain issues -- some quite
major.  And while I'm use to working with Protel and PADS (which have
Electret micro Spice18 Mar 2008 22:41 GMT3
Have you an electret micro spice ?
I want insert this component in my schematic of Micro-Cap simulator ?
In advance, thanks

Cheap Schematic Capture18 Mar 2008 15:14 GMT22
I'm looking for a cheap (or free!) schematic capture package that can
output in PADS format. I'm not the layout guy but it will certainly
save him time compared with me drawing out the circuit in a normal CAD
package. Pin count around 1000 at present.
What these terms of modeling are?18 Mar 2008 04:23 GMT15
There are some terms of transformer modeling in spice simulation, like
below,
.SUBCKT 1TO1#0  1 2 3 4
VISRC 9 4 DC 0V
pspice changing time step issue18 Mar 2008 04:14 GMT18
I have a couple issues I'm having trouble with, I'm using orcad 16 and
trying to simulate a simple circuit, it's basically two pulse
generators VPULSE each going through a diode... I'm trying to "diode-
or" two voltage sources... but I keep getting these large voltage
Searching for a PCB layout software with embedded resistors18 Mar 2008 00:48 GMT11
With Protel it isn't possible make a layout with embedded resistors,
that means you can design PADs to a resistor not only to top or bottom
layer for example for printed resistors on a ceramic substrate . I took
a look on Pulsonix but there are some missing features. The website ...
inverter from batteries and resistors17 Mar 2008 05:42 GMT7
I'm an electronics newbie and for my application it would be very
helpful if I could design a circuit just from DC batteries and
resistors that would output a sin wave (AC).  I don't know if this is
possible.  Is there any circuit design software where I could specify
