Thru-Hole and Surface mount? Costs.29 Aug 2003 13:53 GMT3
Being a software and firmware guy most my life, only now am I doing
layout (or hiring someone's services to do it for me) of a 4-layer
PCB.
I have a few questions:
Orcad Libraries...7 seg LED display???29 Aug 2003 04:19 GMT2
I have been trawling over every symbol in Capture (a two day veteran!) and
can't find a 7 seg LED.  I got one symbol but it's blue and wires don't
attach to it.
Please does anybody know what I'm doing wrong or if they have any libraries
Eagle Surface Mount libraries?29 Aug 2003 03:30 GMT4
I have long known about Eagle but never really looked at it much since
I have always used OrCAD for schematic work and never laid out my own
boards. Well now I am interested in being able to do my own layouts,
so I thought I might give Eagle a look so that I can easily go from
Any pcb layout programs allow you to import jpeg image as background?27 Aug 2003 14:18 GMT21
Why would I want to do that you ask? Well, I want to create a pcb
board from artwork in magazines (and modify them). It would help
greatly if I scanned the artwork, then import it as a background image
to help me line up the traces and parts. My layout program can't do

Hello I have few questions.
How to make my own pcb library footprints?
On all ready make'd  pcb design I need to change  distance between
library footprints pin holes and to move them little bit down?

Schottky diode SPICE model?26 Aug 2003 20:28 GMT5
Does anybody here have a Schottky diode SPICE model which they would
be willing to post?  I am looking  for a model describing a
small-signal Schottky which might be used in a non-linear transmission
line.  Barring that, how about a Schottky static protection diode?  A

Red Circuit Boards25 Aug 2003 17:28 GMT1
red circuit boards look sooo cool , every once and a while I receive a
board that is red and I wish I could get some that are red ...
so in the old days of dry film mask you had to find someone to put a
roll but today most boards are photoimageable mask ....
Protel GND isolation25 Aug 2003 09:14 GMT1
Is there any way to simulate the coupling of 2 circuits with isolation?
(opto-coupler, transformer e.t.c). I am trying to simulate a telephone
circuit and don't want my circuit to have the same GND reference as the
telephone network.

I know this question has been posted before, but i can't find
reference to it. Having been laid off from my company, I am
going to do freelance PCB and circuit design. The question
Spice 3f4/5 and XSpice 1.022 Aug 2003 02:19 GMT4
I'm interested in the actual workings of Spice and XSpice. I've examined the
sources of Berkley Spice 3f5 (which is 3f4 patched I assume), and I've
examined sources for XSpice version 1.0. Without wishing to take anything
away from these excellent projects, I've concluded that a ...
pinouts for summasketch III digitizer20 Aug 2003 14:27 GMT2
I recent picked up 4 summasketch III digitizers without interface or
power cables. I pretty sure I can get a power supply. What I need is
the pinout of the RJ-45 connector on the back of the digitizer and how
the power supply and serial/data/interface cable connects to that. Any
