Protel DXP and Copper Fills28 Jul 2003 20:04 GMT2
I'm using Protel DXP for PCB design (fully manual routing), and I often need
to fill large areas with copper (grounding, high current paths, etc.). Is
there a way to tell the s/w to fill an *arbitrary* closed outline with
copper (other than the polygon plane tool)? What I usually do ...
Tools for modeling EM components...28 Jul 2003 03:19 GMT2
I have been using simplorer lately for designing power electronic
circuits.  Is there anything else out there that can accuratly
simulate transformers, inductors etc?  I seem to remember that pure
spice based simulators had some issues with magnetic simulation.

Rookie questions about Orcad/Protel simulation25 Jul 2003 21:23 GMT3
I play with electronics as a hobby and am used to using Circuitmaker's
spice simulations with transistor-based applications, and I've etched
a few PCBs at home. The digital arena however is confusing.
Q1) Can digital parts be simulated? I have heard of the VHDL language
Eagle - library problems24 Jul 2003 20:37 GMT2
I have a custom library with 4 parts, each one has both a symbol and
package.  When I click the ADD button, that library is not on the
list.  I double checked and the green ball is not clicked.  When I
view libraries from the control panel, custom is there, but only
Protel 99SE - ddb file size grows and grows and grows and .....24 Jul 2003 06:51 GMT2
I've noticed that my protel 99SE ddb files seem to like to expand in size, a
simple design can end up being wrapped in a 10 MB ddb file. If I export the
files from the ddb file and recreate the ddb file by importing the files
into a fresh ddb the resultant file is small (as ...

problem importing sch into CIS for Orcad23 Jul 2003 22:33 GMT1
The mmsim.ini file has my libraries under program files. However, the import
process doesn't recognize the space in program files and uses program
instead, so throwing out an error that it can't find my symbols. How can I
get around this problem apart from moving my library?
Creating Symbols Eagle23 Jul 2003 19:43 GMT5
Being a new user of Eagle Cadsoft, I am very frustrated with the
quirks.  Can anyone tell me how to CUT (copy) a symbol in one library
and PASTE it in a different library to create a new device?  I opened
the LED.lbr selected the symbol for U57x32. I used the CUT command.  I
