Schematic Capture and Board Layout Software18 Jul 2008 19:14 GMT2
Are there any schematic capture/board layout applications available
for Windows that don't cost an arm and a leg, yet are reasonably
functional?
EasyPCB is the only one I'm familiar with, but I'd rather have
5 volt from 4.5 or 6 volt18 Jul 2008 13:16 GMT3
What capacitor should I use on my AC adaptor to boost 4.5 voltage to 5 volt or a
resistor to get it from 6 volt?
I know the theory but I would rather not test it on my ipod;-)
Thanks,
Solder braid: width?18 Jul 2008 01:00 GMT10
I want to solder one TQFP144, but do not have
any experience with anything more than DIP40.
This is what I'm planning to do. I will:

Speaker with a TV versus Radio17 Jul 2008 20:54 GMT3
I have a RS small Optimus speaker (stereo pair). It operates on four AA
batteries. I plugged the powered speaker into my CC Crane radio's headphone
jack, and it easily played the music at various volumes. I then took it to
an elder neighbor's house to attach it to his TV. He's ...
Heathkit IO-4105 probes17 Jul 2008 18:40 GMT1

Help with USB to stereo wire makeup17 Jul 2008 13:23 GMT5
I have a radio control transmitter that controls my r/c planes.

Europe and AC17 Jul 2008 11:57 GMT6
I think that the AC in Europe is 220. Can't I just wire up something
from the outlet like oneside and the ground for 110 VAC.
Thanks

The Right PCB House17 Jul 2008 07:28 GMT44
I need to have a 4-layer board made, a prototype, 2 boards, nothing fancy.
I did some research in this newsgroup and I narrowed it down to Sierra Pro
Express, ExpressPCB, and AC Advanced Circuits.  Do you think I made the
right choice?  Do you have any recommendations?  I would ...
Surge protectors to use with home electronics when grounding is not     available?17 Jul 2008 07:27 GMT109
I am moving into a home which was built in the late 1800s where
brownouts are common and no grounds are available on the outlets.  I
will not have the option of rewiring the home.
Does anyone have suggestions as to how I can best protect my home
resistor nomenclature16 Jul 2008 21:49 GMT37

So does R2 mean 0.2 ohms?  (0,2 ohms for those of you east of the
Atlantic)

Regular resistor VS sense resistor16 Jul 2008 20:59 GMT16
If a circuit just calls for something like a 1 Ohm resistor, with no other
info, would it be bad to use a Current Sensing resistor there?
What would be the best way to approach looking up one to get, when no other
info is oprovided at to type or brand?
differences at output on and off16 Jul 2008 18:30 GMT1

i am using LM393 as output ON and OFF
It is showing ,the output will be ON at 12.2V input voltage and the
output will OFF at 10.9V input voltage at normal room temperature
how to flip a relay by digital signal16 Jul 2008 06:35 GMT2
What would be an easy way to turn on a relay by a digital signal. The
relay would be hooked to a 220 V AC device.
Is a purely-analog chip possible without sampling?16 Jul 2008 06:28 GMT71
Is it possible to have a purely-analog chip that stores audio without
using any form of sampling?
If an audio cassette does not require sampling then why would an analog
audio chip?
anyone used the AD5301 DAC?15 Jul 2008 22:08 GMT2
Has anyone used the Analog Devices AD5301 DAC?  I'm trying to use it to
output a variable voltage based on an operator selection but can't get
anything out of the DAC.
I have confirmed the correct command sequence going into the chip with a
