| THE WORLD NEEDS COLD FUSION. | 23 Jul 2008 06:04 GMT | 7 |
We can make energy out of matter, and matter out of energy. With cold fusion, we will unlock the power of the atom, and the world will have infinite energy and be able to create matter out of energy and thus infinite wealth.

| Tube Radio Power Supply | 23 Jul 2008 05:58 GMT | 16 |
I have an old regen radio that requires 45 volts for the B+. I was looking at plans for building a mains power supply, with a solid state (1N4003) rectifier. Since the radio I'm building it for as tube bases, (type 30) I thought of using a tube rectifier in place of the diode.

| Substitution possible? | 22 Jul 2008 21:57 GMT | 2 |
Hi - newbie electronics learner here. I'm building a basic 12/24V power supply and one of the components called for is a 6A, 200 volt PIV bridge rectifier. I have one that is 6A, 250V. Shouldn't I be able to use this without problems?

| Question about transimpedance amplifier | 22 Jul 2008 18:15 GMT | 1 |
As homework, i should design a transimpedance amplifier (with opamp) for photodetector's front end. I haven't any specification about photodiode's characteristics, so i haven't any information about pratical uses of this system. I can choose arbitrarily any photodiode

| Calculating DC Output Current From Unregulated AC Transformer | 21 Jul 2008 08:17 GMT | 89 |
I have an application in which I need to determine if a transformer is suitable. Transformer is rated for 12VAC, 1.67A but I need DC. I could put a bridge rectifier and capacitor after it easily enough but how does one

| Measuring Unloaded Q of Loop Antenna? | 20 Jul 2008 04:04 GMT | 7 |
What is the best way to measure unloaded Q of a tuned LC circuit (AM loop Antenna) without a Q meter? I tried a scope and generator and loosly coupled the generator to the loop, using a single turn of wire and 50 ohm resistor, and monitored

| Looking to modify this circuit for 30Hz operation | 19 Jul 2008 09:33 GMT | 7 |
I was given the parts to build this sine wave generator. As far as I can tell it's a Wein Bridge with the two LEDs serving the function originally reserved for the incandescent lamp. http://www.stephenhobley.com/sinewave.gif
