MOSFET ratings08 Apr 2008 05:26 GMT2
Does the current rating of a mosfet take into account all maximum
circumstances under normal operating circumstances? e.g., basically if it
says X amps and I run it < 80%X or so will everything be ok?  i.e., does it
essentially include the power dissipation in that value too(in ...
Determine Pin Orientation when no notch08 Apr 2008 03:22 GMT12
How the heck do you determine the first pin when there is no notch or any
special char or anything at all except a line and text?  Does the line on
the side indicate the top? On the datasheet it shows the normal dot where
the first pin is but there is no dot on the chip itself ;/

How to drive piezo atomizer?06 Apr 2008 15:21 GMT4
I am in need of some help as I attempt to improve my circuit design
skills.  I am trying to reverse engineer one of those aroma dispensers
that use the little piezo-electric atomizers and a bottle of smelly
oil.  I have measured and characterized the signal at all the nodes on

Human Electrocution: How is the resistance not ridiculously high?06 Apr 2008 05:37 GMT27
I've been doing electronics for three years now but I don't understand
how a person can be electrocuted by touching one part of the circuit
in a mains supply.

Where to start with microcontrollers?05 Apr 2008 21:35 GMT21
So here is the deal, I'm a self taught computer nerd and wish to mess
around with small electronics and microcontrollers.  I can already
write ASM, C, JAVA, and BASIC with C and ASM under GNU/LINUX being my
preferred languages.  Seems I'd be in luck with the uC because ASM and

Hello everybody. About a month ago I made a post titled  "How do I
hook up my potentiometer?"

I want to make a gain controlled motor05 Apr 2008 16:53 GMT2
I have chosen that project for my college. I will use a potentiometer
to vary the resistance and that resistance will vary the gain for the
motor, hence, we will change the speed of the motor by using a
potentiometer.

Thanks
