I just bought a new strobe light for an experiment in biofeedback; supposedly it can flash up to 10 fps but I need to know when or if it's flashing at pretty much 7 fps. Does anyone know if there is any quick and dirty way to determine the flash rate?

I have this circuit that I am trying to make and it calls for a 47uf and a 68uf electrolytic capacitor. Now unfortunately, in the smallish town I live in the only store to buy components is what used to be Radio Shack. There they only sell 100uf and 220uf and 470uf

can anyone please point me to a circuit that I can use to stretch the on time of an LED when the on pulse is small? I have a push botton that I want to press momentarily and see a longer (say 1 second) illumination of the LED.

I have a bunch of old 80 amp scr's (GE C46h) out of an old lighting dimmer I would like to use 4 of them to make an ordinary bridge rectifier for a heavy duty 12-15 vdc power supply... What do i do with the gate, and the other wire sticking out of the scr ?
