Counting The Spots21 Feb 2008 01:32 GMT18
I just  bought a new strobe light for an experiment in biofeedback;
supposedly it can flash up to 10 fps but  I need to know when or if
it's flashing at pretty much 7 fps. Does anyone know if there is any
quick and dirty way to determine the flash rate?

FM deviation measurement19 Feb 2008 13:54 GMT3
Could someone please describe to me the calculation behind FM
deviation measurement using an oscilloscope?
I've made the measurement thousands of times, but I've just followed
the manual.  The measurement I make is 30Hz FM with 480Hz deviation on
Capacitor dilemma19 Feb 2008 01:58 GMT3
I have this circuit that I am trying to make and it calls for a 47uf
and a 68uf electrolytic capacitor. Now unfortunately, in the smallish
town I live in the only store to buy components is what used to be
Radio Shack. There they only sell 100uf and 220uf and 470uf

Replacing Electret Microphone With Audio Input?18 Feb 2008 13:24 GMT28
I am looking at a number of FM transmitter circuits, purely as a
project, but all of them use electret microphones as input.  Would it
be possible to replace this with an audio input for my iPod?
Atanua - real-time logic simulator18 Feb 2008 08:12 GMT13
As the final project in my school, I'm building a real-time logic
simulator called Atanua. It's available from:
http://iki.fi/sol/atanua.html
Although it's a pure ideal-component logic simulator (not SPICE), it's
Can I measure AC vampire current this way?17 Feb 2008 21:36 GMT32
I'd like to measure how much current various plugged-in devices draw
when they are "off".  I have a digital multimeter that will measure
AC voltage.  So I thought maybe I could place a small-value resistor
in series in one of the AC lines, and measure the voltage drop
Issues with a stepper motor drive17 Feb 2008 21:27 GMT4
I am facing some issues regarding a stepper motor drive. The stepper
motor I have is a 20KG 12V DC L/R Full step driven one. I need it to
drive a Lead screw which eventually builds up pressures of the likes
of 400Kg cm in a cylinder.
Can I use 4 scr's  as a ordinary rectifier bridge ?17 Feb 2008 19:13 GMT16
I have a bunch of old 80 amp scr's  (GE C46h)  out of an old lighting dimmer
I would like to use 4 of them to make an ordinary   bridge rectifier for a
heavy duty 12-15 vdc power supply...
What do i do with the gate, and the other wire sticking out of the scr ?
RF shielding17 Feb 2008 18:55 GMT8
I want to shield electronics in a plastic box from RF.  My first thought
was to get some copper foil tape with conductive adhesive and use that
to line the inside of the box.  Then I priced the copper foil tape with
conductive adhesive, not cheap.  I was wondering how much, if ...
