Reducing Source Voltage To Power Supply11 Jan 2008 07:04 GMT17
I'm building a power supply for an 8 transistor radio, that originally
used 6 "D" cells, involving a rectifier bridge, filtering caps etc,
but there's on problem, which is I can't seem to find an AC transformer
outputting 6 volts that fits in the case I want to use.  I have no
how to turn a universal motor into a generator11 Jan 2008 04:34 GMT4
I took apart an old vacuum cleaner with 12 amp motor, made for U.S. 60
Hz AC household use so I could experiment with turning the universal
motor into a generator.  I know it's a universal motor because
applying 12 volts from a battery will get the motor to turn, same
Remore Neural Monitoring Victim!?!10 Jan 2008 22:09 GMT6
I am a victim of RNM here in Canada.  My life haas been horrible the
last 1.5 half been harassed by a local member of society.  I am
thinking of moving to the UK or to New Zealand.  Will this technology
reach these countries.  If I migrate to them will I end up being free
Replacing EL backlit LCD with LED backlit LCD10 Jan 2008 18:55 GMT1
One of the panels on the bridge has an EL backlit LCD. The backlight on
this unit fades badly over time and the inverter is also prone to
failure, so I sometimes need to fix them. Not only that, but EL backlit
LCDs seem to be getting hard to find, and in particular the LCD module
PCB,IC and Electronic component from china10 Jan 2008 15:00 GMT1
Bairine technology has 6 years experiences in supplying series of
electronics and PCB related components with our best service. We have
a large scale of real stock with PB free for

Setting Up a Home Lab10 Jan 2008 14:48 GMT13
I'm a physics student and I just finished a (mostly theoretical)
electronics class. I really enjoyed it and I was able to get a grant
through my school for $250 to buy some electronics equipment to
continue my studies independently (my school only offers one
Use 3A power supply with 2.5A device?10 Jan 2008 10:51 GMT6
I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to electricity. I have a
wireless router that takes an input of 5V/2.5A but I lost the power
supply for it. I have another power supply from another wireless
router that is 5V/3A. I heard that Volts can fluctuate a bit but Amps
what is the best computer software for electronics simulation?10 Jan 2008 10:43 GMT12
i have heared about different kinds of computer softwares for
electronics simulation. but i am wondering which one is the best, and
the most practical. can anybody tell me which one i should install on
my computer? i have heared about EWB, PROTEUS, PROTEL, P SPICE and

how can i save a sattelite or tv remote control on a microcontroller?09 Jan 2008 21:35 GMT2
whenever a satellite or tv remote control button is pushed down, a
specific frequency is created. how can i save a binary number relative
to the frequency created, on a microcontroller?
Current source?09 Jan 2008 21:19 GMT7
I built a circuit to deliver a 40mA pulse on top of a 10mA DC offset.
The 40 mA pulse is for 100uS.R4 & C1 set the approximate 100uS time
constant. I'm thinking there must be a way to rapidly discharge C1
when the switch opens using fewer components then R11, X1, and Q6 plus
LED torch adaption08 Jan 2008 20:46 GMT12
I need to adapt a little LED torch from a standard LED light to an
Infra-red LED. It's all very simple, but I don't know what sort of IR
LED to get. The current LED just has one pin touching the batteries and
the other bent back to make contact with the switch when it's on. The
CR123A Batteries08 Jan 2008 17:49 GMT7
I just discovered that my fairly new Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station
takes CR123A batteries. They are recharged by the solar panels. From my old
no longer used Canon SLR film camera I have several Duracell unused (fresh
in the package) Duracell Ultra batteries. Can these be ...
video surveillance08 Jan 2008 13:33 GMT2
Does anybody know of a home video surveillance system?
I have a neighbor who has been periodically vandalizing our property
over the past 3 years. I want to set up a hidden camera system to
record him. The police said they can't do anything unless I catch him
