Do you know what a NEGOTI-AUCTION is?26 Jan 2008 19:02 GMT1
It is a three step process:
1. Buyers of same/similar items form a CLUB.
2. Invite sellers to bid on the club items - A REVERSE AUCTION.
3. Once the sellers bid, the moderator NEGOTIATES with the sellers for
Sennheiser headset work with a cell phone?25 Jan 2008 08:08 GMT1
After hours of flaming frustration that no one in the world makes
around-the-ear (aka "can") headsets for cell phones (I wear hearing
aids), I found that Sennheiser HMD 280 PRO cans (apparently) come with
no end connector, and you are expected to wire in whatever you want.
Running a 1 watt LED of 6 volt lantern battery24 Jan 2008 14:49 GMT25
I'm looking to convert a flashlight I have to LED, the flashlight uses
a 6 volt "lantern battery but the LED's max voltage rating is 3.1
volts DC.  What value resistor would I need for this?  I also want to
run it off a 9 volt supply, again I need to know the value of the
Looking for Good FM Radio Reciever Kit24 Jan 2008 07:55 GMT3
I am interested in building a FM Radio but cannot find a kit to
construct.  I am looking for a kit that has good selectivity on the FM
band.  Preferably one without any ICs but I can do with it if the kit
has ICs.  Does anyone know where I can find a good FM kit to build?  I
LED voltage23 Jan 2008 23:09 GMT2
Two questions really:
1:   I have some old LED's but don't know what the forward voltage or
current is for any of them. Is there anyway of finding out ?
2:  If I have some LED's with a Vf of 3.4V and If of 30mA could I wire
How do IR remote controls work so well?23 Jan 2008 19:39 GMT4
I've been experimenting with detecting reflected laser pulses in the
532nm (visible green) wavelength. By modulating the pulses and tuning
a receiving circuit I've been able to get the detector to work over a
distance of several feet in a darkened room.
Wish to drive LCD-TV with portable power supply23 Jan 2008 17:18 GMT1
For putposes of video demonstrations in the field, I would like to
operate a 32-inch LCD television set from the back of my van. I was
thinking of carrying a couple of pre-charged deep cycle 6-volt
batteries and a 2000w inverter (to 110v AC).
DC to AC Square wave question23 Jan 2008 15:30 GMT13
Hey, all, I thought this would be easy but it's not been so far.  What
I want to do is take a DC power supply and output an AC voltage.  The
power supply I'm using puts out 6 volts DC and is marked that it can
handle 1.66 amps output.  All I want to do is take that and turn it

A few days ago, I was in a room on the third floor, the
window was open, some people were conversating
down at street level.  Their words came in, clear as a
bell, almost like being in the same room.  I was surprised,

Question about hardware modification22 Jan 2008 21:53 GMT2
I'm not sure if this is the right group to post this in or not but I
couldn't find anywhere more appropriate so I hope it's welcomed here.
I have a cheap Kodak EasyShare camera that can record video. I also
have a wireless network and a laptop. I want to modify my camera so
3M Shrink Tubing Insulation numbers?22 Jan 2008 04:36 GMT2
3M's data sheet (from Digi-Key):
<http://rocky.digikey.com/WebLib/3M/Web%20Data/EPS-300%20Tubing.pdf>
says that the EPS-300 tubing's insulation rating is 700V/mil. The 3/16 tubing
is 0.020 inches (20 mils) thick, when shrunk, which means it's rated to over
DC DC Converter21 Jan 2008 20:34 GMT1
Would anyone know where I can find a table which lists different power
converters strengths and weaknesses? I am looking for a table which
would help me select a topology for a particular application.
