I'm extremely confused. I have a part SN74LVC8T245 that I'm trying to find a footprint for. I know the part is ssop so I assume its a sop in general. On the datasheet they list many of the packages and I know that my part is DBZ, of course

| looking for a beginner's electronics kit for adults | 17 Oct 2007 22:07 GMT | 17 |
I'm trying to learn about electronics as a hobby. Far too often, I'm exploring a hobby (flashlights, photography, etc.) and I run into DIY projects that involve electronics. And I hit a roadblock here because, even though I can buy the parts and wire them together (albeit,

| Old JCPenny Garage Door Opener/Receiver | 17 Oct 2007 03:43 GMT | 1 |
I just moved into a house which has an automatic garage door opener installed. However the previous owners did not leave any of the controllers/clickers. The receiver is from JC Penny and my guess is it is at least 30 years old. It works fine so I would have to replace it,

I've been looking into getting a microcontroller kit to start learning about them. Preferably to be programmed in BASIC. The problem is I don't know where I can go in my city to buy such a kit. I'd rather not mail order - I'd rather buy something locally.

| contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol for tube contacts? | 16 Oct 2007 15:10 GMT | 3 |
Hey all; I've got a scratchy noise in my tube guitar amp. I suspect it's emanating somewhere from the power amp section, as it is present in both channels, and doesn't increase in volume when the volume is turned up. Before I get into

| Low Resistance Measurement | 16 Oct 2007 01:29 GMT | 17 |
What is the recommended procedure for measuring low resistances? My DMM seems to wander all over the place depending on how I hold the probes against the conductors. Is there a better method? It's autoranging, so I don't know what range it's working with.

| "P dissipation" for caps? | 15 Oct 2007 08:37 GMT | 12 |
Resistors are rated by 2 parameters: ohms and (W). Capacitors are rated in (C) and (V). It's taught to make sure that (W) doesn't exceed the resistor's power rating, which takes (I) into calculation, but capacitors are only chosen by their
