Looking to get my office elevator to take me straight to my front
door...have sub-bio energy signature recognition plate, looking to mod
the unit to meet my front door.  Am I going to need a foyer for this?

Low Voltage lighting vs A.C.20 Jun 2007 09:53 GMT23
I want to do some landscape lighting and wondering if using  a 12volt
system(20 watt bulb) is more efficient than normal 120 volt  (20 watt Bulb).
Converting dual or balanced supply circuit to single supply?20 Jun 2007 05:14 GMT3
Hi, I have a schematic  of an opamp circuit that is biased by a
positive and negative voltage source. I was thinking I can convert it
to single supply by doing the following:
- replace ground reference of dual supply circuit with Vcc/2 .

anyone know how to build a positronic wave stabilizer?19 Jun 2007 21:44 GMT6
Looking for feedback on positronic wave stabilizers.  I've had mine on
the workbench for about three months, can't get particles to separate
without abstract relay discharge.  Nothing worse than a black hole in
the middle of dinner...lol.
Help with electronics terms19 Jun 2007 20:33 GMT6
I'm having a bit of difficulty understanding the following terms:
A "pull up resistor".
[But then I have a bit of a problem when folk say they have "added a
load" to a circuit, with a resistor, when I would have said (in my

I have a DC-DC 200W power supply that likes to take 12V (plus or minus
1V).  Finding that an XBox 360 adapter yields 203W 12V I set about
hooking it up to the power supply and it works.
The xbox cable has three 12V connectors and three grounds.  I only

I'm a newbie wanting to muck about with picaxe projects partly to
learn and partly to make some long-wished-for gadgets, eg datalogging
battery charging and meteorological/power generation info, and a
keyless front door lock.

Recently had a strong black hole -- probably a G20, at least -- appear
right near the garden in my back yard.  Kids wanted to keep playing,
throwing things in it, have about half the pool toys inside.  Have to
give them credit!
Checking a BC548B NPN Transistor?18 Jun 2007 19:12 GMT62
Does anyone know how to check a BC548B transistor using a basic digital
multimeter?
I have been trying to use the resistance and continuity checker but whatever
combination of red/black leads on any of the 3 pins does not appear to do
store refrigerator unplugged18 Jun 2007 12:53 GMT8
Shall I store my eight year old Samsung waist high refrigerator:

Vpp different from signal generator and scope18 Jun 2007 03:52 GMT6
I have something simple but I can't seem to find an answer to it.
I am getting a different Vpp measurement on the scope from the signal
generator. When put in a 1Vpp 200KHz square wave from my signal
generator, while the frequency is dead on at 200KHz, I got a reading
