| PIC USART troubles | 04 Mar 2007 18:24 GMT | 10 |
Im in a bit of a desperate situation. I am trying to get my PIC 16f876 to talk to a Ericsson T28. The T28 has both TX/RX pins and I have connected them directly to the TX/RX pins on my PIC. I measured the voltage across the VDD and GND on the phone and I am running my PIC at

| Power supply part design: AC DC convert problem | 04 Mar 2007 13:26 GMT | 2 |
I have a PSU parrt design problem. It should receive 24V AC input to get 12V DC. It start with a snub circuit, which is a varistor. The second is the bridge rectifier, which should gives out full wave rectified DC. Then

| VGA 15 pin/9 pin Multisync=standard? | 03 Mar 2007 18:25 GMT | 2 |
I'm a little confused about the VGA and Multisync computer monitor standard. I know that 15 pins are most common, the pinout being as follows: http://www.technick.net/public/code/cp_dpage.php?aiocp_dp=pinconvid_vga_15pin

| Another question regarding mA | 03 Mar 2007 15:11 GMT | 5 |
As I mentioned in previous posts, I have this alarm panel that uses 12VDC to power a set of output contacts for an optional sounder device. The only requirement is that you don't exceed 120 mA current draw @12VDC for these contacts. Thanks to the help I've gotten here, I

| Scr firing | 03 Mar 2007 05:23 GMT | 6 |
We have been trying to build a prototype of a single-phase power controller. The amount of power to be output is controlled by a PID algorithm. The PID algorithm resides in the external flash associated with a processor. The output from PWM module of the processor controls

| Powering a PIC | 03 Mar 2007 00:40 GMT | 8 |
I have a digital thermostat that I have modified & interfaced with a PIC16F88 for some custom automation. The thermostat run on 24VAC and I have picked off one of the chips a 5VDC source to power the PIC. All was working well for 6 months without a problem. Lately, when I push a

| Measuring the resistance of a hot resistor | 02 Mar 2007 07:16 GMT | 52 |
I am using a 100W, 2 ohm power resistor (old wound cement unit) in a circuit to do some basic measurements with. When cold, the resistor measures 2.1 ohms on both of my DMMs. After use, when the resistor is hot, I attempted to measure the resistance,

| Digital Potentiometer | 01 Mar 2007 19:42 GMT | 9 |
I have been trying to source an AD5220 digital pot in the UK. I have tried my usual sources (Maplin etc) plus a good trawl of the web but to no avail ... one guy suggested a company [who's name evades me at the mo] but they had a high minimum order.
