How does one add a 12v trigger to an amplifier...?23 Dec 2006 17:55 GMT11
I have a high power (2600 watts @ 4ohms min. mono bridge) amplifier
that I would very much like to be able to have turn on  via the
existing 12v trigger in my av preamp.  Any any suggestions as to the
specific component(s) and the cleanest, safest method of installing
Electric Kontiki motor power supply and PWM questions22 Dec 2006 23:36 GMT22
I'm finally getting around to building an electric fishing Kontiki and
have some questions about how to do so. First off an electric Kontiki
is basically a timed torpedo with a prop either at the rear or more
recently at under the front to take a line out past the breakers into
mosfet? transistor? hexfet?22 Dec 2006 22:38 GMT11
When would one use a transistor?  mosfet?  hexfet?
Basically looking into PWM switching of medium-sized DC motors (12V,
~5A or so).
Which should I use...?  A beefy transistor like a TIP36C?  Or a hexfet
Simple PWM Circuit for motor control22 Dec 2006 21:11 GMT9
I need a simple PWM circuit to control a motor from my microprocessor,
I found this one:

Any comments?  It looks cheap and simple to build so should fit my
AC speed control: shaded pole motor22 Dec 2006 21:00 GMT2
Let's say I have a shaded pole motor, which controls a blower fan
(basically a bathroom vent fan).
Let's say I have a 12VDC car battery, and a 12V-120V step-up
transformer.
IP2 Test Procedure?22 Dec 2006 15:51 GMT2
I've been told to perform a test on a 2.4GHz radio front end (LNA
and filters).  While I've done many IP3 tests, I'm not sure I fully
understand how to do a proper IP2 test.  Any guidance would be most
appreciated.
Electronic ballast/ electronic choke22 Dec 2006 11:12 GMT1
Can I get the complete circuit for electronic ballast with list of
components for 220 to 240 ,50 Hz v input?
All Magnetic Self Centering Bearings22 Dec 2006 02:42 GMT4
Is it possible to make a bearing out of a ring magnet and a smaller
magnet held above above the center of the ring by NS SN or SN NS
repulsion?
The smaller magnet could be prevented from flipping with a non magnetic
Adjustable voltage booster?22 Dec 2006 02:33 GMT14
I have lucked up on a Ecotech high output emergency vehicle alternator for
the boat project.  This hyper expensive alternator puts out full output at
very low RPM which makes it very attractive for charging my bank of four L16
batteries.  The problem is it is designed to output a ...
Appliance Output per Hour21 Dec 2006 20:12 GMT12
Hi there-  I'm hoping someone can help me.  I'm thinking of purchasing
a space heater with the following ratings

Manchester encoding21 Dec 2006 10:55 GMT5
I am doing and RF application with PIC chip and using picbasic pro to
write my code. My poblem is that I have a 8 bit number I want to send
serially. The serout command work up to 8 bit , so the number should
not be distorted, Althought I want to use manchester encoding which
Driving LEDs with higher current or from a higher positive voltage.21 Dec 2006 06:12 GMT6
I am novice!! can any one help me out? for a project I want to drive
series leds using led driver. The led output driver is programmed to be
either open-drain with a 25 mA current sink capability at 5 V, and 10
mA source capability at 5 V.To drive leds in series for higher current
No-op microprocessors21 Dec 2006 06:05 GMT9
As all microprocessor instructions finally boils down to 0/1 through
output pins. This means that we can build a microprocessor that does
nothing but just generates 0/1 through output pins, in a desired way.
Functionalities can be built on the top of such microprocessors. Such
