O T Free Newsserver  that Carries A.B.S.E13 Nov 2006 10:18 GMT9
The local server that carried Alt.binaries.schematic.electronics has
apparently closed or dropped it and since ABSE and Alt.comp.freeware
were the only ones I could not get from my own ISP I am looking for a
new source.
soldering to nichrome wire13 Nov 2006 01:02 GMT19
I am trying to solder copper wire (tinned) to nichrome ribbon (more like
wire, but wider), which I took from an old toaster. The nichrome ribbon
doesn't seem to like the solder. Is there a trick to this? Or should I be
doing something to the nichrome before I try to solder it? On ...
remote monitoring12 Nov 2006 21:50 GMT1
I need to help for my project which is telemetry disagn for to sent sun
car's or hydromobile's information(current, voltage,speed,...) with
mobile telephone via RS232 to pitstop.
Switcher impulse noise reduction...12 Nov 2006 09:15 GMT5
Does anyone have any experiance removing the switching noise from the
output of a switch mode power supply?  I have tried in vain but think
there is a way to actively filter it out somehow.  We're talking about
a 20mv peak to peak noise spike at ~ 60 KHz or so.  A picture is worth
testing H-bridge11 Nov 2006 22:45 GMT2
I am testing a stand alone H-bridge IC, the L293D. I do not know if
this is a problem or just a ormal reaction of this chip.
The chip I am using is this one

PC port question11 Nov 2006 21:27 GMT18
Before I plug this circuit into my PC, I'd like
to know if it's going to blow things up.
I'd like to use a 9v battery to power it,
rather than a 5v supply, since I'm using spare
LED Christmas Tree Lights11 Nov 2006 16:41 GMT17
Hi guys I purchased one of those invertors for the car that will run up
to 60 watts I tried hooking it up to a 12 volt battery from one of
those indoor emergency lights its rated at 6 a\hr.  It would not start
up I guess I need something with a little more current.  I have tried
Powering PC from 24V battery11 Nov 2006 10:51 GMT3
My AC input to the computer converts to 19VDC, 7.9A, 150 Watts Max.
What are my options to power this from a 24V (2/12V series batteries). I
have Googled and found some dc/dc converters @ 150W, but no prices!
Volume discounts, like I only need one. Should I go for an inverter and
Need circuit to measure capacitance?10 Nov 2006 22:14 GMT15
Does anyone know a circuit to measure electrolitic capacitors in
the range 10uF to 20000 uF ?
I have a 555 ic , a 5v supply, and a frequency counter, could I
make a good circuit?
Bandpass filters and RF shields...10 Nov 2006 21:19 GMT12
I'm developing a 2.4GHz LC bandpass filter.  In testing the
completed filter with a VNA, the filter's in-band response is perfect
both with and without an RF shield in place - but its stopband really
becomes poor with a RF shield over this circuit.  In fact, the stopband
why do we prefer to supply voltages at the inverting terminal of an op-amp???10 Nov 2006 12:07 GMT7
why do we prefer to supply voltages at the inverting terminal,or
conventionally known as the negative terminal of an op-amp???
i need to build a 13.8 powersupply10 Nov 2006 03:26 GMT8
Hello, i need to build a powersupply, i know how to regularize the ac
current . but i need to know how i make a 13.8 volt power supply with
at least 20 amps.
at the shop, they have a 24 volt transformer (plus12 minus12) with 10
Capacitance value?10 Nov 2006 02:19 GMT4
I have opened my Sky Digibox which has stopped working
and I am having problems reading capacitor values. For
example, there are many blue blob type capacitors
(ceramic dipped resin I guess) which I can't understand,
30 second delay (on and off)09 Nov 2006 20:59 GMT11
I need to close a relay 30 seconds after a signal is present, and open
the same relay 30 seconds after the signal drops out, (+/- 10%). I'm
considering using a RC network on the input of a comparator so that the
cap charges and closes the relay 30 seconds after the input is present,
A father / daugther project :-) simple door monitor09 Nov 2006 19:44 GMT10
