Newbie - Current, Voltage, Resistance, Power and Transformer theory17 Oct 2006 10:27 GMT12
I'm self-teaching myself electronics and the only place to ask
questions is in this forum  so please excuse me if this has been asked
a million time already but after reading several books, I still have
questions on these topics. No real values, just theory in this
How can a neutron have magnetism if it is has no electricity?17 Oct 2006 07:45 GMT23
If all magnetism is electrical in origin, then how can a neutron --
being a non-electric entity -- have a magnetism?

Any good circuit analysis programs for the mac17 Oct 2006 02:43 GMT2
Does anyone know of or have any recomendations for circuit analysis and
capture progrqms on the mac.  I have tried mac spice, but would prefer
something with a GUI front-end.  I have also tried McCad, but I feel it
costs too much.  I have a cracked version of Pro-tel for the PC, ...
Transimpedance Amplifier - Photodiode Reciever Circuit16 Oct 2006 22:27 GMT8
Need help with component choice!
Trying to build a photodiode recieving circuit. Came up with the
circuit below after reading a few things and scavenging come circuit
designs.
filtering high-frequency noise from power bus16 Oct 2006 19:34 GMT2
I have a device involving several 4538 CMOS monostable multivibrators that
has been operating fine for 6 months or so, but these multivibrators have
suddenly started triggering spontaneously. I hooked up a scope, and found
nothing unusal on the leading-edge trigger line, the one I ...
Automatic dimmer circuit16 Oct 2006 18:00 GMT2
Does anyone have a dimmer circuit that, when activated, will dim a
light form 100% on to fully off oer a 15-20 minute period?
I used to have a Triac circuit that did this, and it was great for my
insomnia: it mimics deepening twilight.
AC Line current detector problems16 Oct 2006 04:38 GMT8
Playing around with the Bowden AC current detector:

but I have had no success with my modification of using a low
resistance (0.02 ohms) sense resistor in place of the coil. As this
Suppression of EMI from Spark Gap16 Oct 2006 03:41 GMT20
My heating system uses a constant ignition wiring configuration at the
oil burner.  This is causing an annoying high level noise in a HF
receiver.
I would like to kill the source by improving shielding if that is
Question about scope ac-dc diagram15 Oct 2006 21:06 GMT18
I would like to ask about the ac coupling in a scope, what sort
of capacitor do I need to use?

On the Structure of Particles and the Nature of Nuclear Forces15 Oct 2006 16:02 GMT1
This paper has proposed a theoretical idea to construct particles by
using electron, positron, neutrino and anti-neutrino as well as the
weak force interaction among them; it has theoretically estimated the
radii of neutron and proton as well as the range and strength of
permeability15 Oct 2006 14:57 GMT9
I bought some N41 ferrite material surplus pot cores from BGMicro.
References I dug up on the net give N41 initial permeability of 2800 to
3000.

PIC18 Table read15 Oct 2006 02:36 GMT5
I'm having trouble getting my head around this.
I want to add a two-byte offset to TBLPTR to
read a large table. I tried to:
