making a piezo louder23 Oct 2006 08:39 GMT9
I have a GPS that uses a piezo for proximity alarms.
I HAVE to have it louder.  With help of the boys over at
electronics.design I have found the piezo and unsoldered it.
Here is a pic of the board to show you why I had a problem
Measuring torque23 Oct 2006 05:25 GMT4
I have a small DC motor. i want to measure the torque. NO datasheet of
any kind.
I used 15lbs (6.8Kg) weight attached to 1.1 cm of the shaft (motor
geared at 1/720 so it turns about 8 rpm). Can we say that the motor has

Alter the pitch without altering the speed.22 Oct 2006 22:45 GMT14
Adobe Audition seems to be able to change the pitch of an audio file
without changing the speed at which it plays.

Current regulation confusion22 Oct 2006 17:26 GMT17
I've been toying with these Luxeon white leds and the data calls for a
current regulated supply.
I'll assume the reasoning for any LED to require a current regulated supply
is for a consistent, unwavering brightness level. (?)
Volume (decibel) Low-pass filter (NOT frequency filter)22 Oct 2006 14:23 GMT9
I need a circuit for building a volume low-pass filter. why?
The problem is that every time there is a commercial on TV they
increase the sound level. I want to combat this by building a maximum
sound cap limit (adujstable via Pot.). It should work on all frequency
Digital comunication through powerline22 Oct 2006 02:49 GMT9
I am looking for both an integrated (IC) powerline
modem and an integrated comunication "error controller".
I need the second device because I've heard someone
saying about the powerline which it might be full of noise
Currently-Available Highest-Quality Linear PCM Video?21 Oct 2006 23:42 GMT54
What are the sample rates and picture resolution [in pixels X pixels]
of the professional progressive [non-interlaced] linear-PCM video
format used today? I beleive linear-PCM video signals are used in
professional studios.
Power rope lighting with a battery21 Oct 2006 19:33 GMT2
I am new to all of this...I am trying to get a 4 ft strand of rope
lighting to work on a battery (alarm panel 12 volt I think) with a
switch in between.  When I connect the rope lights to the battery
directly it lights fine.  When I wire the switch, I take the two ends
Will this lamp life increasing scheme work?21 Oct 2006 17:09 GMT15
A long subject line, I know. Anyway, after having another light bulb
fail in a bright flash when I turned it on it got me to thinking about
somehow limiting the inrush current. If I remember correctly the
filament has a much lower resistance when cold and that's why they

Vl in analog switch?21 Oct 2006 15:06 GMT2
Hey all;
I'm working on using an analog switch (MAX4661) to replace a relay in a
footswitch unit for my guitar effects. This particular switch will be used
to control amp functions - in this case all that is needed is for 15vDC to
Oxyacetylene Ionization and EMI21 Oct 2006 08:52 GMT1
An oxyacetylene flame -- due to its high temperature -- can cause
nearby air molecules to ionize. Does this ionization cause electrical
disturbances that can be heard on an AM radio? If my neighbor is using
an oxyacetylene torch will I hear the electric noise on my AM radio?
LED no resister question21 Oct 2006 06:06 GMT15
I have a new product I invented. It's a LED fish strike indicator.
As I found out experimenting with LEDs, getting the proper current is
the key. My product uses two 5.8mm dia. button batteries. I first used
two #10 air zinc hearing aid batteries (1.4v, 90 mAh)  but found out
AC Power cord - splicing21 Oct 2006 02:19 GMT10
I have a couple strings of new Halloween lights, which are essentially like
the small incandescent bulb Christmas lights (not LED) that plug directly
into AC mains (120V).  I would like to splice several of these lines
together to make one long string of Pumpkin lights.  Each run ...
