| Measuring torque | 23 Oct 2006 05:25 GMT | 4 |
I have a small DC motor. i want to measure the torque. NO datasheet of any kind. I used 15lbs (6.8Kg) weight attached to 1.1 cm of the shaft (motor geared at 1/720 so it turns about 8 rpm). Can we say that the motor has

| Alter the pitch without altering the speed. | 22 Oct 2006 22:45 GMT | 14 |
Adobe Audition seems to be able to change the pitch of an audio file without changing the speed at which it plays. http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/overview2.html#kmhead3 "Time and pitch processing: Change tempo without shifting pitch or

| Current regulation confusion | 22 Oct 2006 17:26 GMT | 17 |
I've been toying with these Luxeon white leds and the data calls for a current regulated supply. I'll assume the reasoning for any LED to require a current regulated supply is for a consistent, unwavering brightness level. (?)

| Volume (decibel) Low-pass filter (NOT frequency filter) | 22 Oct 2006 14:23 GMT | 9 |
I need a circuit for building a volume low-pass filter. why? The problem is that every time there is a commercial on TV they increase the sound level. I want to combat this by building a maximum sound cap limit (adujstable via Pot.). It should work on all frequency

| Will this lamp life increasing scheme work? | 21 Oct 2006 17:09 GMT | 15 |
A long subject line, I know. Anyway, after having another light bulb fail in a bright flash when I turned it on it got me to thinking about somehow limiting the inrush current. If I remember correctly the filament has a much lower resistance when cold and that's why they

Hey all; I'm working on using an analog switch (MAX4661) to replace a relay in a footswitch unit for my guitar effects. This particular switch will be used to control amp functions - in this case all that is needed is for 15vDC to

| Oxyacetylene Ionization and EMI | 21 Oct 2006 08:52 GMT | 1 |
An oxyacetylene flame -- due to its high temperature -- can cause nearby air molecules to ionize. Does this ionization cause electrical disturbances that can be heard on an AM radio? If my neighbor is using an oxyacetylene torch will I hear the electric noise on my AM radio?

| LED no resister question | 21 Oct 2006 06:06 GMT | 15 |
I have a new product I invented. It's a LED fish strike indicator. As I found out experimenting with LEDs, getting the proper current is the key. My product uses two 5.8mm dia. button batteries. I first used two #10 air zinc hearing aid batteries (1.4v, 90 mAh) but found out

| AC Power cord - splicing | 21 Oct 2006 02:19 GMT | 10 |
I have a couple strings of new Halloween lights, which are essentially like the small incandescent bulb Christmas lights (not LED) that plug directly into AC mains (120V). I would like to splice several of these lines together to make one long string of Pumpkin lights. Each run ...
