Op-amp peak detector with gain10 Sep 2006 12:06 GMT29
I need a single-supply positive peak detector with a gain of 2. (Previously
I used an op-amp with a gain of 2 followed by a peak detector, but would
like to simplify the circuit.) The input voltage will range from 0V to about
2.5V.
Another simple transistor question.10 Sep 2006 06:17 GMT7
I know that a PNP transistor will not work if the collector is higher than
the emitter but will it be damaged?

Transformer grounded - why?10 Sep 2006 04:10 GMT10
I read that the secondary of a high voltage transformer should be
grounded. Why? Will it still work if it's grounded?
Need simple 50V output stage for 4Mhz function generator09 Sep 2006 14:51 GMT6
I have a function generator that gives out upto 10V (0.1Hz to 4MHz).
Need to add a simple output stage to provide upto 50V for this
bandwidth (will provide dedicated power supply).  Any suggestions for
the configuration?
timed igniter for metal halide lamps09 Sep 2006 08:40 GMT12
Could anyone help me with designing a timed igniter for metal halide
lamp which stops
providing pulses to the lamp after 10mins. The circuit that i tried is
described below: -
555 timer -> Relay -> Light problem09 Sep 2006 04:47 GMT13
I have set up a one-shot 555 timer to trigger a relay for a few
seconds. With just that set up, it works fine; I can hear the relay
turn on and  off. With an LED connected to the relay output, it turns
on and off as expected, along with the relay.
About Zero Ohms resistors08 Sep 2006 22:28 GMT9
Could any one be so kind to explain to me what are the zero ohm
resistors and what are they used for?
Thanks!
inverter for a 12 volts DC to a 22 or 24 volts AC ?08 Sep 2006 17:55 GMT5
I'm trying to find a powersupply or a inverter to connect a small
icebox system based on a Sawafuji compressor swing motor. This icebox
will be installed inside a Westfalia camper.
This system need a 22 or 24 volts AC power. I didn't find anything on

Amperage and ohmage in a circuit08 Sep 2006 03:33 GMT21
Why, for God's sake, do so many people use the word "amperage" when
there is a perfectly good word, "current", available? Similarly,
"ohmage" for "resistance". I'll expect "faradage" for "capacitance" any
day now.
Little meeses love them greases08 Sep 2006 02:37 GMT4
Some people converting diesels to run on waste vegetable oil have run
into a peculiar problem:  mice have been chewing through fuel lines!
So I had an idea.  Produce some nasty high-frequency sounds.  Something
in the 50 kHz ballpark is supposed to be effective on rodents.  What's
