Need simple timer module or kit for car alarm project30 Jun 2006 23:41 GMT10
Hi, my car was just broken into yesterday, so I decided it's time to
get a car alarm. It's an old car, so I bought a cheap (but good brand)
basic vibration sensing alarm. Being the tinkerer I am (and not wanting
to irritate my neighbors with false alarms), I want to install a timer
Biasing this FET -- how does the bias work??30 Jun 2006 19:45 GMT18
I know how to bias FETS, but how this particular Class A linear
bias scheme works has me completely stumped, since the DC is totally
blocked from the FET's gate by capacitors.  Anyone have an explanation
of the bias of this particular FET circuit? The small signal amplifier
Bubble etch tank - first board30 Jun 2006 18:43 GMT16

a/d converter,30 Jun 2006 14:36 GMT7
Hi, i am trying to create an a/d converter, however i don;t know where
to start, I know digital logic and i know electronics, i' have already
done this in the past for school lab but i just can't seem to get it to
get all the part required. i need to create a a/d converter with a

Why do some satellite modems require an external clocking signal?

part search29 Jun 2006 23:50 GMT2
hey people,
I am looking for a specific part. I was wandering what are the technique you
use to find a specific part.  Is there a software out there you would just
punch in NPN, Vcb=500v max  etc...  and I would see all the possible part
12VDC linear actuator29 Jun 2006 21:44 GMT7
I am working on a robotics project and need to buy or build a 12VDC linear
actuator with a stroke of about 3-4 inches (~10cm) and a force of between 30
to 40 Newtons (about 6 or 7 lbs).
I have googled for linear actuator, and visited the grainger site, but they

The 555 timer  has a maximum frequency of 1MHz.
I would like to know if there is another chip that can go up to in the low
MHz  ( about 20MHz).
I need a square output waveform. Basically a beefed up 555 :)

Is Information an Important Science?29 Jun 2006 14:40 GMT59
- Because software is a descriptive model, as well as a testable
prediction, you can test your theories straight away, as soon as you've
written them properly.
- You can see the direct relationship between real-world problems and
Transformer Sizing / Rating28 Jun 2006 14:07 GMT8
My project requires operation of a single relay to control mainly
resistive loads up to 5amps ac @ 230v. The main project control
circuitry (5v DC) requires very little power (few micro amps idle to
10mA active) - however, the relay coil does require quite a bit of
12 Volt power Supply28 Jun 2006 05:55 GMT22
please forgive the supidity of this question but I am a mechanical
engineer and have very linited knowledge of electronics.
I have tried to biuld a 12 volt power supply for testing
motor/gearbox/pump units and the problem is that it keep blowing up
Help with AC motor wiring diagram28 Jun 2006 02:48 GMT5
I have an older AC motor that I would like to hook up to 230v.  There
is a wiring diagram on the motor but I cant make sense of it.  There
are four wires coming out of the motor labeled T1, T2, T3 and T4.  Here
is a link to a copy of the wiring diagram that is on the motor.
