Op Amp Hookup Help Please30 Nov 2005 23:02 GMT3
I'm not an experienced electronics person, and so have a "stupid question".
I have a device that provides an "on" signal intermittently at 2.7 volts DC.
When the "on" of 2.7 volts is available, I need to have a "sub-circuit"
receive an "on" of 5.0 volts.  I have a source of 5.0 ...
From breadboard to ....30 Nov 2005 21:42 GMT5
I got my marvellous application working fine on my breadboard ;-)
It's around 25 TTL LS type ICs,  plus few connectors strip and 5V PS.
It's not an high freq application ....
Now I need to transfert all that stuff on something but I never did that
Storing Electronic Components In Plastic Trays30 Nov 2005 20:10 GMT4
Is there any danger of excessive static buildup if I keep all my parts
in the plastic fishing tackle trays (3700-series, made by Plano)?
For ESD-sensitive ICs I have squares of conductive foam in the trays
that I stick them into, but should I also worry about JFETs and
Desoldering: Thin layer of solder left on pads30 Nov 2005 19:48 GMT10
I'm not sure if this is a problem or not.  When I desolder resistors
from a PCB, the desoldering wick sucks up enough solder to remove the
resistors, but leaves a thin layer of solder on the copper pads that is
_extremely_ difficult to remove.  Is this a normal desoldering
clocked-synchronous state machine analysis30 Nov 2005 19:36 GMT12
hi, i have problem in  clocked synchronous state machine analysis in
which im not able to analyse the timing diagrams correctly and along
with this i need help in understanding the following things like setup
time, hold time........etc.
noisy tektronix 46530 Nov 2005 19:31 GMT4
I recently purchased a used tektronix 465 scope off eBay and when I
turn it on it makes a pretty loud noise. The best way I can describe
the noise is as a fairly loud grinding noise. I've worked with more
modern scopes in college and at work and they never made any audible
Mains adapter for digital camera.30 Nov 2005 18:41 GMT1
I've just bought a used Fujifilm S3500 camera without the mains adapter
which the manual specifies as a 5V unit. From where I live, it would be
easier to make my own 5V power supply than to order it from somewhere.
Can you please clear up these points ?

I miss the basic books30 Nov 2005 01:58 GMT11
I grew up in the 60's.
Back in the '50's there were books written about basic electricity by
big corporations, like AT&T, GM and GE, for the "ordinary Joe." The big
companies knew that they needed to educate their workforce and they took
20kHz to 2MHz Laser Vibrometer29 Nov 2005 16:30 GMT11
Dear Friends,
I am currently looking for a cheap Laser Vibrometer to measure
ultrasonic vibrations upto ideally 2MHz. I know Polytech have a line of
laser vibrometers but unfortunately its out of my budget. Currently i
forward converter duty cycle question29 Nov 2005 14:55 GMT6
Looking at the forward converter topology illustrated here:
http://schmidt-walter.fbe.fh-darmstadt.de/smps_e/edw_hilfe_e.html
They specify a maximum duty cycle of 50%.
Is this predicated on N1 and N1' having an equal number of turns?
Simple audio band-pass filters with sharp cut-offs29 Nov 2005 03:37 GMT4
I want to split an audio signal into 5 bands by frequency range (top
and bottom can be low-pass and high-pass) and send these into speakers
with moderate power, say 10 watts.  I can use amplified speakers if a
5-way audio amp gets complicated.
Residual AM and PM?29 Nov 2005 03:11 GMT5
I cannot seem to find any strong explanations for "residual AM",
"residual PM", and "residual FM" in any of my electronic's books or
Online.  What are the causes and symptoms of these particular effects?
Any help is most appreciated!
Tracking Generator29 Nov 2005 00:43 GMT9
Could someone please straighten me out.  What is a tracking generator?
I know they go with spectrum analyzers, and I have always just assumed
they were a controlled swept oscillator or something like that.  What
is their primary function?  The reason I ask is I have to run through
What bulb voltage?29 Nov 2005 00:17 GMT15
It's funny, but I think it is the case that sometimes the voltage of the
bulb in the thing you bought does not match the battery voltage. I'm sure
I've noticed this in the past, often the bulb voltage is lower than battery
voltage.
