Looking for bias meter30 Jun 2005 14:50 GMT5
Hey all;
A little while back, I was checking out different bias meters (for biasing
tubes) on the internet and came across one that was pretty reasonably priced
(<$50 I think). The only problem is I cant remember the name of the thing. I
Police Lightbar Project30 Jun 2005 05:56 GMT3
My friend acquired a police lightbar from an old police cruiser, and we
thought it might be fun to use it with our band on stage. I haven't had
a chance to look at it closely yet to inspect the ratings and such, but
I'd like to be able to convert it so instead of running of a car's ...
Amplifiers30 Jun 2005 03:45 GMT5
Hi to all ,
I want to know about the different BJT/FETamplifier configurations
about their working and which component is used in them and why?
And how they are used practically?
wiper nozzle wiring?29 Jun 2005 18:52 GMT5
I bought lighted wiper nozzles for my car. Do I have to cut the head
light wires
or is there another way to not cut them. Also if I have to cut the
wires, what's the best method for splicing them together, if its solder
Difference between.....29 Jun 2005 18:08 GMT7
What is the difference between hole mounted components and surface
mounted components?
Which is better?
Variation on the 5v -> 12v newbie question...29 Jun 2005 17:58 GMT25
I'm making a simple electronic-transmission controller for my car, but
I seemed to have run into a problem.  The basic idea is to control
three solenoids with a BASIC stamp.  I've got everything working like
it should, but I'm having trouble on the output circuits to the
Still looking for joystick29 Jun 2005 17:15 GMT4
--Have been all over the place, but can't seem to lay my hands on
an old centering joystick, analog variety with pots on it. In
desperation I went to a swap meet last weekend, but no luck. I've found
new ones for $200, but hey, these used to go for $5.- at C&H! Any leads
Harmonic composition of a square wave28 Jun 2005 23:10 GMT17
I know you can make a square wave from the sum of sinusoidals, but does
this mean that if you look at a sine-wave that wasn't made by using
sinusoids (perhaps using a switch or an oscillating crystal to turn the
signal on and off) on a spectrum analyzer that you would see all of the
What is this type of dial/knob called?28 Jun 2005 05:28 GMT14
I'm trying to find the type of dial that you can turn in one direction or
the other without it stopping (unlike a potentiometer).  I have no idea what
this part is called.  Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Looking for a waterproof junction box...27 Jun 2005 22:03 GMT2
I'm looking for a solution to water/dust proofing multi-pin electrical
connectors.  A problem I have is that the grommet through which the
electrical wires will pass will need to be much smaller than the
connectors, and I'd like to be able to get the connectors in the box
Pspice simulation question27 Jun 2005 01:42 GMT1
I'm trying to check my work on an AC series-parallel circuit using the
student version of Pspice.  We are studying Mesh and Nodal analysis.
Is there a way to display the magnitude, frequency and phase angles for
a particular trace?  I realize I can roughly calculate them from the
Newbie/Outsider question: what are resistors actually made of?26 Jun 2005 23:13 GMT8
My name is Myria and I really don't belong into this group at all, but
I do have a question and searching the web doesn't really get me
anywhere, because I guess I lack some basic understanding of
electronics. I was hoping you could help me.
OH BOY, HERE WE GO...26 Jun 2005 21:17 GMT34
I would like to build a portable battery power supply for my portable
USB hard drive/CD/DVD enclosures.
Based on the cover of the normal power supply, it delivers: +5V/1.5A
and +12V/1.5A to the enclosure.
UV LEDs die fast?26 Jun 2005 19:50 GMT4
Out of a batch of 50 UV LEDs two have "died" somehow. With the first one I
thought it was a bad connection, so I re-soldered the LED, and it worked.
When I turned the circuit off for some time, same problem. So again I
thought: "cold" connection, re-heated it, and worked...
