I would like an isolation transformer (1:1) for the UK mains.  I can't seem
to find any off the shelf designs though.  If I bought 2 of the same step
down transformers (i.e. 240V to 12V) I could take them apart and build a new
transformer, which consisted of the 2 primary coils.  ...

How are the LEDS wired . In Paarrel o in series. the reason I ask is
becaues I was wondering if I were to cut a few off the end would it
cause some grief(a blown fuse in the fuse box) or would the remaining
leds be a little brighter.

I own a four channel mixer that runs off a 9v battery. The unit itself did
not come with a plug pack but it has the option for a 9v 100mA plug pack. My
problem is that I can't seem to get my hands on a 100mA. I've checked out
