Extracting the infrared code of a remote control30 Jun 2004 17:31 GMT7
** This email address will self destruct in 72 hours. **
The users of some digital cameras with infrared remote shutter release
ability have discovered codes for universal television remote controls
which will work on their cameras.
PC monitoring of a DC signal30 Jun 2004 13:20 GMT3
I wonder if anyone out there has a sound no-frills way of monitoring
either a 10mV or 2V DC signal (at approx 1 to 3 Hz)using
shareware/freeware and taking the signal through either the Parallel
port or a sound-card?
How does this ic work30 Jun 2004 09:15 GMT1
Ok so i got this six pin ic on a board that is about ten or more years old and
i'm unable to find any data on it at all, it;s definatly an optocoupler and it

diagram of a car's electrical system30 Jun 2004 04:01 GMT8
Does anyone know where I can find a good diagram of the basic (ignition)
electrical system of a car? (Preferably on the web). The manual and a
couple books that I have aren't quite enlightening, and I haven't been

Safe Measurement29 Jun 2004 21:47 GMT3
I have a couple of flash units ripped out of disposable cameras. They both
need to have two contacts physically pressed together to trigger, and these
contacts are relatively large, so I assume they could be conducting large
amounts of power. The caps only have "9(2)" and "4 a" ...
"Resistance multiplier"29 Jun 2004 17:24 GMT2
I'm building a flight yoke out of a 'gunners power control' yoke from a M48
tank.
Unfortunately, I had to use 2Kohm potentiometers, because they were the only
ones that would fit/were available

Hysteresis needed in 741 Op-Amp circuit29 Jun 2004 10:34 GMT48
I'm looking for a bit of advice on a 741-based thermostat circuit that needs
some hysteresis, or lag between "on" and "off". I imagine this is a pretty
basic problem, but it's beyond my meager abilities.
I've posted the circuit and details at the following link. Any input, either ...
Want to hire PIC programmer for quick job28 Jun 2004 18:51 GMT10
I need a VERY simple PIC project done but I am not an engineer.  I do
know it is a simple project because I have read accounts of how it is
done, I just can't translate that into actually DOING it for myself.
I know it uses the PIC model 12C508A.
Re : Heart Rate monitor using infared LED28 Jun 2004 16:29 GMT1
I am wondering whether is there a Simple schematic for a Heart Rate monitor
using infared LED.
My idea is to design a simple heart rate monitor which detect heart pulses
by placing the finger over a pair of Infared LED (one receiev and one
Transformer, Power, Special, Isolation, How will it work?28 Jun 2004 05:58 GMT3
Hi Gang..
I want to power a rotating load.  The load has many components.  The input
voltage is 220AC.  The eventual load will be 5, 12,and 20 volts DC for
computer type components. One rotation takes about two minutes.  So!  Here
Know how28 Jun 2004 05:45 GMT3
Hi,
Debugging using Hyper Terminal is interesting. I know that
microcontroller communicating with HT through RS232, but what is the
"character format" that HT using ? i.e. how HT know that the micron is
Radioshack PCB kit27 Jun 2004 23:00 GMT6
I bought the kit from radioshack that lets you make pcb boards, but hte
instructions are pretty lousy.  i'm curious if there is a way to design the
PCB on the computer, print it out and somehow transfer this to board.  Or
perhaps better instructions.  Any suggestions?
Is it ok to run a 240 transformer on 120?27 Jun 2004 22:58 GMT2
I have a VERY big step-down 210-220-240 transformer here. Would there
be able problems running it on 120?
Did some testing with 120 using a 2amp fuse im able to get the voltage
i was hoping for. But befor i go and wire everything up. just wanted
