Need a relay controlled by a PC.29 Feb 2004 05:54 GMT5
Hello. I need a relay that can control the power to a TV set and can
be open and closed from a computer. Currently I can use an X10 system
but that is unreliable since it gets all kinds of false signals from
the power lines. So what I would rather have is a relay that connects
Cold cathode lights.29 Feb 2004 02:19 GMT5
Anybody know if the cold cathode tubes you can get for PC case mods would
survive in a car running off the 12 - 14 volts ? They come with a 4 pin
molex, using only 2 wires.

Electronics problem, Help required. 28 Feb 2004 09:42 GMT1
I would like to run my new Radio / CD Player from a separate timer partly as
bed side alarm and partly as a means to record programs when I'm out.
My multi function timer used to switch my old mains powered radio on by
simply switching on the mains supply, but with the new Radio / ...
Series resistance of battery pack?28 Feb 2004 07:29 GMT11
Is there a way to measure the series resistance of a battery, or battery
pack? I am using LTSPICE to try and duplicate the results of a breadboard I
have constructed, but I have no idea what the series resistance of a battery
is. Maybe there's a ball park figure I can use? OR an ...
N/C Switches to turn on stuff28 Feb 2004 06:12 GMT9
My work wants me to whip up an alarm system for the back door, which
sometimes gets left open accidently.
I was planning on hooking a power supply to a magnet switch and a siren but
I have encountered a problem.
Beginner coilgun questions28 Feb 2004 04:19 GMT5
I try to build a coilgun.
The coil is better at the beginning of the winding than towards the
end, there are five or six gaps of a millimeter or so in the latter
half of the coil.  I started by drilling a hole through the 1/2" inner
data sheet for SSI-204 dtmf decoder28 Feb 2004 02:10 GMT9
i'm looking for the data sheet for the SSI-204 DTMF decoder.  Their website
has been down for a while. anyone have it?
or as an alternative, does anyone know where to buy a replacement for this
IC?  you'd think DTMF decoders would be pretty common, but i can't find them
12 VDC motor control?28 Feb 2004 00:36 GMT11
First, some background.  The headlamp door motor control module died
on my 1987 Buick Skyhawk.  As a result, the doors covering the
headlamps had to be opened manually and left that way.
I checked with Buick, and the module is way out of my budget, and
Variable output voltage 0-5v with 9v battery?27 Feb 2004 19:32 GMT6
Looking for a simple design to use a 9v battery to make a variable
0-5v output, using a potentiometer.  Anyone able to hook me up on the
knowledge base? And possible Radioshack parts?   Sort of a school
project...need help.
5MHz signal to DC converter circuit needed27 Feb 2004 17:41 GMT4
I'm looking for a non-complex way to convert a 5MHZ signal to a dc level with
little if any ripple.  The signal is at 5MHz with amplitude of 0-5 volts.  When
the signal is present a + 2.5 to +5 Vdc output is required.  When the 5MHz
signal disappears a 0 volt output is required.
Wattage of CFLs27 Feb 2004 14:26 GMT2
I purchased GE's 15 Watt CFL, compact fluorescent lights.
Details: Packaging says 950 lumens (!), 15 watts energy
used, 8000 hours, helical or spiral, 230 mA.
Model = FLE15HT/3/2/S
Measuring capacitor leakage current27 Feb 2004 12:25 GMT7
How is capacitor leakage current measured?
Even after fully charging 2200uF cap to 3V, when I placed my
multimeter in series it displayed about 1uA current.
Is it the capacitor leakage current.
-15V from a +15 supply27 Feb 2004 07:31 GMT5

I really need one of these outputs to be -15V, is there anyway i can get
this from the supply??? Do i just wire the + to GND, and the -Ve end will
become -15V???
