| Ultra-LD 200W Power Amp Mk2 SC Aug 2008 | 28 Aug 2008 03:32 GMT | 12 |
I've been trying to understand the theory behind the design of the Ultra-LD 200W Power Amp Mk2 in the Aug 2008 issue of Silicon Chip. The amp uses On Semiconductor's NJL3281D/NJL1302D ThermalTrak power transistors. These have integral diodes.

| water level relay | 28 Aug 2008 04:24 GMT | 4 |
I thought this would be easy, but I'm struggling with the details. I have some lights (12VDC 200W) I want to turn on when the water level in a fountain reaches a certain point (i.e., the fountain is on). If I use a level switch and trigger a relay, I have the problem of

| Building Your Own Flyback Transformer | 28 Aug 2008 02:15 GMT | 12 |
A friend gave me a little yellow toroid (ferrite?) with a winding around it, that he had butchered from some non-working computer part. I unwound the (thick!) wire, re-wound it with 10 turns of primary, and 50 turns of secondary.

| Weller WTCPT tip not hot enough | 28 Aug 2008 03:47 GMT | 65 |
I have a Weller WTCPT soldering station with the stock TC201T handle and PTA7 700 degrees F. tip. It's 15 years old and hasn't seen much action. I was using it a lot 3 years ago but for the past 2 years it's been sitting cold in the garage.

| Dell Laptop PP10S does not work on AC | 28 Aug 2008 01:12 GMT | 3 |
My co-worker has a Dell Laptop PP10S that works on batteries but not AC. He measured the AC adapter to be the correct voltage. Has anyone seen this problem before? Could it be a bad regulator? Any assistance will be appreciated.

| Newbie Question on Flyback Primary Winding | 27 Aug 2008 21:20 GMT | 6 |
I just bought a flyback tester and have a drawer full of flybacks that I want to test. How do I know what pins to connect it to? The directions say to simple hook it up to the primary windings, but which pins are these?

| calculating saturation current of transformer | 28 Aug 2008 04:26 GMT | 4 |
I have designed a 1:1 transformer that will be used in a low voltage DC:DC converter. I have tested the current at which the transformer saturates by decreasing the frequency of the primary voltage while keeping the secondary open loop.

http://www.analog.com/static/imported-files/Data_Sheets/ADA4898-1.pdf This is a potentially very nice part--0.9 nV, 2.4 pA, 1.5 pF Cin, 33 MHz, +- 15V. The dynamic range is stunning, especially with that low input capacitance--about a quarter of the LT1128's. With quiet

What modifications are needed to convert C. Bassos TL431 Pspice model to a TLVH431 model? I tried the obvious switching the 2.495V to 1.24V but I get a reference of 1.49V when I do this, it should be 1.24V.

| GFCI Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter Inline C13 to C14? | 28 Aug 2008 02:55 GMT | 7 |
Has anyone seen a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) that would work inline with a computer server plug? These typically terminate with an IEC C13 female plug end, so the GFCI adapter would need to be C14 to C13. We are finding when we aggregate a large number of servers ...
