ORCAD Layout Going Crazy

Hello,   I'm using Orcad 9.2 layout software. All the parts are laid out on
the board; however, when I attempt to manually route two pins together, the
entire screen turns blue (the color of the top layer which I'm using).  To
get out of this mode, I need to undo the route step and refresh the screen.
This happened with another layout I was doing.  I did successful routes and
unroutes (automatic)...then after placing some more parts, I get the blue
screen effect.  Could I have inadvertently changed a setting?   I seem to be
flooding the design with routes for some reason.  Any suggestions?

Maybe your trace width is set to some value like 20 inches instead of .020
inches or 20 mils.
