Hi everyone, I'm using Altium Designer 6.7 for PCB design and come up
with a problem. Now I wish to have certain components be auto placed,
so I select them by mouse, put them in room and press the button.
While expecting only selected components be repositioned, the software
instead changes the position of every components. How might I use the
auto place function so that it only affects components of my interest
without affecting the others? Thanks.

I would give you the same advice that I give everyone trying to use the
autoplacer, don't! Placement is the most critical aspect of PCB design and
every autoplacer I have ever tried, including Altium's, is a lame broken
piece of crap that does the most illogical placements. If you were to
subscribe to Altium's AD support forum and search for comments on the
autoplacer, you will find the same advice from most AD users.
