Help With A Schematic

I've just completed this device and it does what it's supposed
to(distort a guitars output signal) but has no gain... Can anyone help
me try and get more gain out of this pig? Perhaps change some of the
devices values...add pots? Who knows I don't... see this hyperlink to

Take the output direct from the collector of the second transistor. The
other problem with this circuit is is has an input impedance too low for
most guitars. Try changing the 22K feedback resistor to 220K.

what happens to the 4.7 and 470 resistors and the .1uf cap... and the 9V+
input point?
