I'm after the brightest 20W 12V MR16 bulb for a project. Something around
the 20degree mark. The best I could find was a Phillips part number BUT not
available locally. I've tried all the specialist S.A. lighting places I can
find with no luck. If anyone knows of a specific product OR suppler in Aust
that might be able to help please provide details.

Tried these guys - it's usually best to visit their counter in person.

Would a luxeon LED suit your application?

Doh - unless you live in SA!

Looks like stores are in WA/Vic/NSW/QLD. I imagine they'd still be
interested in swapping your cash for their goods via phone/email.

Don't know. Needs to be around the 15-20 watt min or equivalent and last
time I looked none of the current LED's offered that much light and it would
be prohibitive to use that many LED's.. Love to go LED but....

**  What is so terribly wrong with a 12 volt  " PAR36 " pinspot lamp ??

Not very bright, fragile and a bit larger than I want. If you can point me
towards a specific product or part number that is brighter than the
equivalent MR16 then I might take an interest and see how long they last in
the application. Obviously I want something with a reasonable short
filament.

**  I think your first two claims are false.

** Here is a 12volt , 36 watt  2000 hr, very narrow spot halogen version of
the PAR36.

Many others exist too - some with 67,000  candlepower !!!

You will have to modify your very strict requirements.

You think or you know? Find me one that's as efficient as the MR16's (I'm
not talking about the junk ones) and I will consider them. I suppose I can
just carry a spare or two and not worry to much about the shorter life.

I need around the 20Watt mark. If I was after 35+watts then I wouldn't have
a problem with getting a MR16 product.
Any specs on this unit? As you should know, there is a HUGE difference in
output between products with the same specs.
So without a part number or specs I have no way of knowing if that product
is junk or offers something comparable to a MR16 Unit.

Local supplier? If I wanted to import them I wouldn't have a problem getting
what I am after. I was hoping to find a local supplier which is why I made a
point of it in my post.......

> Many others exist too - some with 67,000  candlepower !!!

@20Watt? Got a link? I've got some 100000 candlepower spotlights here. If
only they were 20 watt.....

> You will have to modify your very strict requirements.

Why? Because you are unable to find something that meets my criteria? The
products are out there, I'm looking for a local supplier. Since I can't find
one here I was asking if anyone knew some decent Aust based ones OR knew of
other products that fit my criteria.

** Be nice if you explained what you power source is and why the strict
limit.

**  Really -  even when the beam angle, colour temp and candlepower are all
the same ??

Oh look ee   -  here it is  !!

**  Lets get over the PAR36, halogen or standard and 36 watt hurdles
rst   -  eh  ???

**  You still need to say what life span you must have.

**  Because the laws of physics seem to be agin you.

**  Dunno what all your criteria are   - yet.

Maybe you care to be more co-operative with folk trying to help you out for
nothing ?

Just a suggestion.

** Try  SSPA in Sydney on  9584 9999.

Got large stocks of PAR36 pin spots and MR16 lamps.
